i was on ocracoke island last night and this morning and it was the most freezing poo i have ever been in the middle of.

I used to live in a small Northern California town just outside of the bay that was surrounded on all sides by 20+ miles of farmland. In a valley. Sometimes the wind swept through that town like the rapture was coming. If you were riding a bike, it would take you from full-pedal to hitting a brick wall in no time. To make things worse, at the time I lived in apartments at the edge of the town. The street my building was on bordered a large irrigation ditch and a farm field. It just so happens that irrigation ditch was great at funneling the wind down the street and turning it into a wind tunnel. I was once literally knocked down by an unexpected 50 mph gust.

At least it wasn't that cold out though. Worst it ever got there was in the 40's. That sucks.
