Panthers hire police to keep media out of workout

honestly, who cares about this workout...they're gonna stretch, do some drills, and then throw the football around...let me know when they put on the pads

Actually, they're not. But I suppose it's too much to expect someone to actually read the article.

"We're going to try to make it as close as (organized team activities) as possible," Beason said. "Meetings, light practice, light workout, conditioning, the same thing that we would usually do."

Smart move - I can only imagine the media frenzy with Cam there. One incomplete pass or dismissal look and it would be front page news that Cam isn't getting along with team or he can't comprehend playbook. They would report something stupid like that.[/QUOTE]

Cam probably knows more of the playbook than most who attend. Most probably don't even have the new playbook to begin with.

lol. Gantt has lost his mind.

It was a good move to keep reporters out. That way they can actually practice without Gantt asking stupid questions like what number Cam's gonna wear or how Jimmy feels, for the 48th time, about the draft pick.

Heck, Gantt, in his nonsensical rage, has proved my point:

Was told by a player they didn't want "any distractions" from fans or media. Pssst, guess what, Cam-Jimmy an issue whenever we're let in.

when it comes to the media, they NEVER let facts get in the way of a good story. it's been more than obvious since drafting Cam.

Hmm. Could be Steve said he didn't want to be named as being there, or could be he wasn't and Gross is trying his hardest to avoid a controversy:

josephperson Joe Person

Gross would not say whether Steve Smith was at workout. the sessions will be closed to media until the last one June 9.

Why would gantt even be there? Didn't he get demoted?
he just likes to bitch. probably will do a lot more since he doesn't have to cover the panthers (ie, stay on their good side).

fwiw, i unfollowed him from panthers twitter account today. he's become irrelevant. i only follow beat reporters, current players, and a couple people in here.

more than that and it's just noise.
