The Hornets, meanwhile, have been looking at Orlando, Charlotte and New Jersey as potentially attractive trade partners once the firestorm settles down, according to one of the people with direct knowledge of the Hornets' strategy. Two other sources familiar with the situation confirmed prior discussions involving the Bobcats and Nets and said those talks are expected to advance in the coming days.

There are indications that the Hornets believe the Magic, Bobcats and Nets would have equally, if not more attractive assets to offer. The positive spin emanating from Monday's meeting allows the Hornets to "keep working on it," and puts them in "a better negotiating position to do so," said one of the sources.

So this all seems to be a PR deal by Paul and his "camp." Interesting read and definetly re-opens doors that we may have thought were closed recently. So it anything, let the rekindled speculation continue. Let the banter begin :D

After Chris gave a list of teams he'd be willing to get traded to, I'd be shocked if he ends up in Charlotte.

It's good for us. It would be just surprise me.

I know people say that New Orleans will do what's best for their team, and screw Paul's feelings but there are two sides to that problem.

One, even the Bobcats don't want a guy in their locker-room who doesn't want to be there. Secondly, the Hornets hope to sign other players in the future. Players, like the rest of us, talk to other friends (ie: players) and share their feelings about how teams are run.

No front office wants to be seen badly and if New Orleans tosses Paul into a situation he doesn't want, in the long run, nothing good will come of it for them.

I really think all that "List" stuff was complete bullshit and basically just speculation on where the MEDIA thinks he'll go. Im still believing that stuff about Paul to Charlotte, etc that was talked about 2 weeks ago. Looks like it could be true..

I think this article confirms the talks new orleans had with charlotte two weeks ago that seemed to fly under the radar by the national media. Secondly, if Paul isn't dealt before the season he probably won't make it the rest of the two years on his contract. IT seems that most of the national media is a step behind what is really going on...except for maybe CBS, who has been consistently close to what we've been hearing for weeks now.

where has CP3 said he does not want to come to Charlotte?

Yeah that list was BS. Not to say I think he's coming to Charlotte, but I am sure our FO is trying their hardest to get him here and CP3 would not be opposed.

And I just cannot believe Paul's statement yesterday. Like someone stated it was all PR. I could even tell from the new GM's statement that he didn't even beleive in what he was saying. I think Paul is still trying to find a way out.

I'm not saying CP3 will end up in Charlotte. But lets not forget that S-Jax was traded to the 'Cats when Charlotte wasn't on his "list". But S-Jax took it in stride like the professional he is. I'd expect Paul to do the same if he were traded to a team not on his list.

As for the Hornets front office. They'll trade Paul if he wants out, but you better believe their not gonna just trade him to NYC or Orlando for peanuts. The team that makes the best offer, will be the team that lands Chris Paul.

You have to believe of the teams mentioned charlotte and orlando has the most to offer. Especially in terms of cap relief with expiriing contracts in orlando and damps in charlotte. I believe nelson and carter have expiring contracts.

    • well, the comparison is to last year.  The OL is a 180 degree from that.... and overall on the season they have had better skill talent for the same QBs behind a MUCH better OL.    So yeah, the O not looking any better overall is a red flag for Canales.
    • I just want somebody to settle into that Hangartner role and I may give Mays too much credit. He played so well early and has fell off since injuries crept into his vocabulary.  He was struggling to get push on those goal line runs today.
    • You cannot say it doesn't matter who is playing QB ever in any circumstance. The first two games of the season, Bryce was standing in the pocket with time missing throws left and right. We were running the ball well, but even the gimme throws Canales was setting up, Bryce was missing. Then you start Dalton, boom easy win at Las Vegas. By week four's end, three of our best defenders are seriously injured, center injured, 2nd best veteran WR hurt, and best veteran WR quitting on the team.  Canales is a rookie head coach, and he definitely has had some see what sticks moves. But players are being schemed open, the rookies are progressing nicely, and you have the albatross of some terrible lack of talent to phase out. I give him credit alone for pulling Mingo, Thomas, and going with the better/younger producing players. The scheme is better, he just needs better players and I am not going to write him off until he gets more talent, starting with QB!
