Livingston Officialy signed Today!!!

Recommended Posts

The Charlotte Bobcats made it official today, signing 6-foot-7 point guard Shaun Livingston. The team made Livingston available to local media. A couple of quick headlines: -- Livingston suffered a horrible left knee injury as a Los Angeles Clipper (while playing against the Bobcats). I asked how this affects how many minutes he can play and how often he can practice. Livingston said there's no "cap'' (his word) on the minutes he can play, but that monitoring minutes, along with a lot of maintenance work on his knee and the surrounding muscles, is now part of his routine.

Livingston averaged career highs of 9.3 points, 5.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds for the Clippers in 2006-07 before suffering tears to the ACL, MCL, PCL and lateral meniscus in his left knee, as well as patella and tibia/femoral dislocations, on Feb. 26 against the Bobcats that caused him to miss the final 26 games of the season and all of 2007-08. He later played four games with Miami in 2008-09 and 18 games with Oklahoma City during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, before signing with Washington.

It is amazing that Shaun is able to walk, but I am glad he is with us and should be a real asset to this team.

Note: Shuan Livingston played with Dominic McGuire this year in Washington.

People would think you were crazy if you told them that Livingston was actually a year and three months younger than Felton because he's been on the radar so long.

The kid has a future, but I am just curious about how many minutes he's actually going to be able to play.

Free agent point guard Shaun Livingston has officially signed what is believed to be a two-year, $17 million contract with the Bobcats.

He's not as quick as he once was and injuries are still a major concern, but for now, he's really the only true point guard in Charlotte. We're not sure if he'll start for Larry Brown or not, but it does seem like he has a better shot at winning the job than D.J. Augustin.

I would be okay with a Livingston/Augustin combo provided we could get a decent big to round out the lineup. I think Livingston and Augustin both are underrated for what they bring in a starting capacity. I feel comfortable with that back court if we can improve the play down low.

I think you have a surplus #1 in the contract number. It is a 2 yr, 7 million dollar deal.

MJ likes to throw around the money, but 8.5 per is a lot even for MJ standards.
