Peppers To Pro Bowl Means................

SMACKDAB

...............Panthers Organization will have to pay him an extra 1.2-1.5 million on top of his already RIDICULOUS contract, just because he is being selected to it. Did you guys and gals know that?

I'm sure most do, but wanted to refresh some memory for you all. :D

All year long we thought it was only a million a game, well it went up a tad bit more now.

Just sayin..............

Are you sure we owe him $1.2 million for making the Pro Bowl? I am pretty sure there are no extra incentives in a franchise tendered contract.. he doesn't get any incentives rolled over from his previous contract.. that previous contract is null and void.

Positive. And almost positive it is closer to 1.5 million. It's called incentives.

"He earned a $1.5 million roster bonus by making the Pro Bowl, raising his compensation this season to nearly $18.2million, believed to be the highest of any defensive player."

Just throwing this out there guys........CONTRACT YEAR.

Now...with that being said, I really don't think it's all about the money for Pep. He could have already made more in endorsements than he will ever get for the NFL had he chose to.

I mean come on, how many endorsement deals to you see him doing?? Just can't put my finger on this guy, and his mindset.

He could have, right off the bat, the day he came into the NFL, hooked up with Dr. Pepper(and several other products), and made boozillionz of dollars promoting his name, along with theirs, but to my knowledge he hasn't.

He is a hard one to figure out for sure. I would hate to see him go, but I just don't see any player worth 100's of millions of dollars, in any sport, especially when it handcuffs, and limits the team at other positions that may need to be improved on.

I know it's all about business, and if this organization can operate with that kind of spending, then I'm all for it, as long as it helps, not handcuffs the team. I hate to see this org "go all in"(in gambling lingo) for him to just show up whenever he wants to.

As with Fox, I am still straddling the fence, so I guess you could say I'm on a 2 rail fence at the moment. :D

Point being.....Pep can make money with his name alone if he wanted to, but he hasn't done that. So I can't understand why it is such a big issue to him here. I think some things will come to light, and we'll see where his heart really is soon.
