The Bears......

Jay Cutler: making Jake Delhomme look good.

He may have some Ryan Leaf in him as well:

MINNEAPOLIS -- After Jay Cutler angrily shoved an NFL Network microphone away from his body, the Bears quarterback conducted a brief postgame press conference in a small room adjacent to the visitor's locker room in the Metrodome.

"It's a tough one," Cutler said of the team's 36-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. "We didn't expect this, [we] thought we had a good week. We didn't play up to our standards."

In fact, the Bears did play up to the careless standards they've set this season -- turning the ball over three times in the first half. Cutler tossed a pair interceptions, which gives him an NFL-high 20 on the season, and slightly underthrew a pass to an open Johnny Knox in the corner of the endzone.

Wonder if Jay, who once proclaimed he had a better arm than John Elway wishes he was back in Mile High having his ass kicked by Phillip Rivers, instead of Brett Favre.

To be fair, the second pick came after the defender shoved the Bears Receiver before the ball got there causing the ball to deflect off of the receiver then having the mulletster Jared Allen intercept it. Of course everyone including the announcers thought it should've drawn a flag but no flag was thrown. It didn't matter though the Bears were sucking so bad by then that it was a moot point.

The Bears have a QB with potential, a million dollar arm/ten cent brain type. An aging, crappy Oline, and an aging crappy defense.

The Panthers have an excellent running game, An older crappy QB, a decent Oline, and a decent defense.

So the PROBLEMS are a bit different, the results are similar.

I'm not sure which crapboat I'd rather be in....I'm thinking neither.

I was really critical of the Bears' OL heading into the season and after watching quite a few games I can firmly say that they will never succeed until it's fixed. Cutler just can't play ball without a top 10 OL, and Forte just can't get any room to run.

Yeah, when people were claiming Orlando Pace was the answer, I thought there could be issues.

I could not figure out why anyone in Bearville was happy about that signing.

I will stand behind my excitement about the signing of Cutler. I still believe he is a good QB, with the possibility of being a great QB.

If he pulls a (ugh) Favre and wises up.

Urlacher's gabbing again, and dancing right on the edge of criticizing Cutler.

"Look, I love Jay, and I understand he's a great player who can take us a long way, and I still have faith in him," Urlacher tells Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports. "But I hate the way our identity has changed. We used to establish the run and wear teams down and try not to make mistakes, and we'd rely on our defense to keep us in the game and make big plays to put us in position to win. Kyle Orton might not be the flashiest quarterback, but the guy is a winner, and that formula worked for us. I hate to say it, but that's the truth."
