Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police cars collided Saturday while chasing a car that was reportedly involved in an armed robbery, police said.

The wreck happened just after 5 p.m. on Kingston Avenue near South Tryon Street and East Boulevard.

Police got a call about a man who reported being robbed by another man. Officers said they were notified of the suspect's description and saw the vehicle involved leaving the scene of the crime. They collided a short time later. Neither officer was injured, and the suspect was not apprehended.
