just in time for the bucs game..lol

Dexter Jackson is signing a contract to join the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers today, a league source said.

The second-round draft pick from Appalachian State in 2008 by Tampa Bay never received a shot with the Buccaneers, and fell out of favor after general manager Bruce Allen and coach Jon Gruden were shown the door. Jackson had a high ankle sprain when he was cut on Aug. 31, and has been out rehabilitating while teams have called about him over the last six weeks.

The Panthers have had issues with their return game, and if Jackson picks up the offense quickly there is a chance he could be promoted to the 53-man roster at some point.

I like the move. He's more of a project but a guy that could work out as a solid WR in the future. The Bucs just expected too much too soon because they were dumb enough to spend a 2nd round pick on him. But for the immediate future, I'd rather give the opportunities to K.Moore.

    • He ain't singing another 1 year $4M deal. He needed to get out of here to show what he could do and he has. Now clue about the Commander's cap situation but they should lock him up.
    • Cam's been on record multiple times publically showing displeasure with many of the moves and decision made in the Tepper era starting with Matt Rhule. We all knew Cam's second stint was a PR stunt during a lost season to help drive some fan excitement. But Cam has stated that he was set up for failure by Tepper/Rhule when he was starting just a week after resigning w/o knowing any of the playbook. Then Joe Brady was fired midseason just as they were game planning over the bye week. Plus Sam Darnold's beef/jealousy when Cam was resigned. Cam has also stated how Tepper/front office/and coaching staff has failed regarding the development of Bryce Young. Cam has also directly said he wanted to be Panther's president in order to help with marketing and driving fan's interest which Tepper has likely ignored.  We all know that Tepper is the petty type specifically buying his former boss's house and demolishing it afterwards, having beef with reporters, throwing drinks at fans, etc.
    • Could not agree more, he has the frame to add LB bulk. His biggest strength is playing near the LOS, great pursuit and closing speed. Man, it pains me that we let him go entering his prime, he signed a 1 year 4 mill contract. Ian Thomas, Shy Tuttle, Ashawn Robinson, Miles Sanders,  Josh Yijiam, etc so many over paid players and we don’t pay young talent.
