Small/collapsed pocket = too little time to make reads (especially when you lock onto read #1 forever (That IS a flaw in Jake's game) )and a resulting sack or forced attempt...

Jake has that wreckless gunslinger mentality, and it shows when he is forced to force things...

All you Panthers staff/players that lurk here on occasion, you should have listened to me here:

For this reason, I hope our passing offense features the Shotgun a little more, and has a few tweaks in the blocking schemes... I feel if Jake had just a LITTLE more time on plays where he makes his biggest mistakes, we wouldn't even be doubting him...

Hindsight is 20/20, so let's make some changes and push forward...

I don't know,I noticed Jake was in the shotgun when he got run over by the incoming D linemen acting like he never saw them even though he was in the backfield already when he received the ball. 7 points scored by the Philly D. Again he was in the shotgun on another pick. Shotgun ain't the problem. Jake is.

I think Rodney Harrison was saying how Jake was acting like a rookie. He wasn't making reads that are basic after so many years.

To me that translate into NO confidence.

Pro Sports 80% confidence and 20% talent.

You can have all the talent but if you don't think you are good or better than the other guy...turn out the lights..the partys over..
