Hey Jay, just a tip. Every little thought in your head should not be uttered to the press. Just because McNabb, Favre, and P. Manning get free passes from the media when they do it, doesn't mean you always will or should follow in those footsteps.

So the new QB wants to share his opinion on the very young and inexperienced WR core.

Media sites like NBC and a$$holes like Florio are trying to create a story were there really isn't one.

According to coach Lovie Smith, players have input, but only so much.

I don't have a single problem with his wanting to tell the staff his opinion of players, etc. at all. I just think he needs to take a course in media 101 because how you say things is important especially a dude in his position (a guy who is going to be looked to as a leader). Also to be considered: he just got there and hasn't suited up for a single game yet hence perhaps should be a bit more mellow with that kind of talk. But there are plenty of other QBs who obviously have a far longer tenure and are not at all ill thought of in any way by the press or their fans and who make me cringe when I hear them talk to the press so take it FWIW.

I agree, media 101 is what this guy needs, its easy to blow up a guy like Cutler in the media.

Yeah that was the phrase that stood out to me as well.

Since I didn't hear him say it, he could have had a joking tone to his voice. But again, I think he must be cognizant of how that may appear when it's just in print.
