  1. Eh, I'd go with that TD pass vs Green Bay last year. One of his best though and this was the type of throw though that he has very frequently missed on underthrown in the past. Great to see it drop in in stride.
  2. That was a quality throw right there.
  3. Y'all are nuts with the mustard sauce talk. Blech to mustard in general, let alone mustard BBQ sauce.
  4. YPG/total yards is a terrible statistic for this argument. This "4th ranked defense" gave up the 4th most points last year. Remember when Rhule and Snow had the "2nd ranked defense" in 2021? It's the exact same situation and circumstance with respect to this statistic and Evero but folks weren't making comments about 'running with a narrative' at that time.
  5. It's not just stats, and I daresay that I don't even really care about stats in the sense that I think stats tell the whole story. I want to see a QB that can take over games and compete/look competent against the best competition. Even if the surrounding cast is a bit subpar you can still see those guys when they're there. Mahomes' stats this year are atrocious but the guy can still load the team on his back and make things happen. I'm not saying that the only acceptable QBs are Mahomes-level but that's what Carolina needs to be looking for and it's evident even in this down year that he still has 'it'. Bryce has shown next to nothing in that area.
  6. Man, it's a rough group being compared when Teddy is far and away the best of a given set of options.
  7. "Yupping it up on the sidelines" means nothing. A coach can enjoy a player and still not think they're the best for achieving a given goal, in this case winning long term. I'm not saying you're definitively wrong about the shrewd management aspect since that could be the case and none of us on the outside know for sure, but unless Canales is somehow satisfied with the objective performances that have been put on the field and that's all part of the plan then he should absolutely be (will absolutely be if he's a decent coach) looking for someone that can execute the plan better even if he gets along well with Bryce.
  8. Bingo. I feel like watching them these past years it has taken the KC offense longer and longer into the season to produce consistent points, and Mahomes really looks human this year. Kelce is producing some numbers but doesn't seem to be making the splash plays he has in the past, and the loss of Rice with Hollywood being hurt has really limited the WR options. Hopkins is on the back half of his career, Worthy is a rookie, and Juju is basically invisible. They are mortal and it won't be a massive blowout, but I don't see Carolina's offense doing much against their defense and the 24 or so points they'll likely put up will be more than enough.
  9. Still early, but it's not an obvious dumpster fire. So perhaps 'too early, but signs don't look atrocious'?
  10. I'm just speculating and am not trying to defend Morgan, but in looking at it would not be surprised if the plan from the start of the season was to trade Mingo for anything they could get (fortunately, Dallas is dumb) if he didn't show noted improvement. Waiving Mingo tanks any potential value while Coker was going to make it through.
  11. If said 6-4 cannon-armed QB is at a similar career stage as Bryce yeah, absolutely. Upside is there and games can be won multiple ways. Guys like Bryce don't win championships except off of flukes because they aren't dynamic enough. Also, you make it sound like Bryce isn't 4-17 as a starter. Because that's the team's record when he starts, and it's been ugly QB play way more than not.
