  1. When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on. The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel. Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did). But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
  2. Both teams were not expected to be great before the season - in fact many people thought we were screwed when Kelvin Benjamin blew out his knee in training camp. First three games were not impressive either with the wins coming in close games against Blake Bortles, Ryan Mallett and Luke McCown. Josh Norman's pick 6 in the first game and the amazing leaping pick in the endzone of the third game kept us from potentially starting 1-2. Week 4 was more defensive excellence with 4 picks of Winston. We really didn't start looking like the favorites until the Seattle 4th quarter comeback.
  3. Dallas fans are really dumb when it comes to Dak. There’s a decent part of their fan base that still believes they would be better off with cooper Rush. Then there are others that think he’s the best the entire league and that you could put him on the chiefs and that he’d have more super bowls than mahomes. Very little in between.
  4. He should have used it to help him block somebody
  5. Very little chance he would want to come here anyway, this sounds like someone just doing dot connecting. if we are going to fantasy book, Tomlin and the Steelers divorce after this weekends loss - Steelers hire Harbaugh, Ravens hire Tomlin.
  6. Clete was the head ref in Super Bowl 50, which was also a screwjob
  7. I don’t see Rodgers making it out of the first against Houston’s pass rush
  8. The way I remember the whole S2 thing coming up was that Brock Purdy scored a really high score on it when he had that rookie season that came out of nowhere. His score was in the mid 90s. The guys who developed the test then started pushing the narrative that mahomes, Allen, and burrow all had really high scores when they took it too so there’s something to it. They said something like mid 80s and up was elite processing. Then it blew up in their face after Bryce scored a 98 and CJ Stroud scored an 18 and how differently their rookie years turned out. Now it looks even funnier because here were the other scores of guys from that class: Jake Haener 96 Will Levis 93 Jaren Hall 93 Clayton Tune 84 Anthony Richardson 79 Hendon Hooker 48 IIRC, agents started telling QBs not to take the test after CJs experience.
  9. He’s clearly not playing like the first half of the season (or either of the last two for that matter). You can point to the drop off taking place since he busted his non throwing shoulder in the Rams game. I’m glad it’s benefitting us. Again, sorry praising another opposing player that’s not CJ Stroud gets you so bothered that you bring stuff from two months ago
  10. It was directed at Tampa too - and he was right. If I were one of the WC teams there's no way I'd wouldn't want to play a mediocre team in the NFC South in likely nice weather conditions instead of the defending Super Bowl champions who are playing better now in the cold.
  11. They did say that a couple of times although the context was naming both us and Tampa as the potential 4 seed, and that the 6 seed was likely going on the road to face the defending champs in Philly. They brought it up as a way of saying that the Rams should have strong incentive to win last nights game despite having already clinched a spot. I don’t see that as disrespect, it’s a fact.
  12. I am not arguing that Shough has not shown more promise than Bryce has - I’m just saying that I don’t see enough evidence yet to think he’s “the one that got away” (like a CJ Stroud or a Jayden Daniels/Drake Maye). Those are two entirely separate conversations.
