  1. Lance would be an interesting player to bring in to try and develop but the 1000 of question marks about his ability to follow a game plan worries me. He seems to be a player that moves to improvise more than follow the play.
  2. Look I am not saying Bryce is the answer. I think he's better than you portrait but, I get your point. Remember Dart was a late first round pick. A great pick up if you ask me. We're probably not going to reach for a 1st round pick. That means a 2nd round or further down the draft for a QB that may or maynot be the answer. Sad thing is though we traded up for Young, he's probably the best QB of that draft. Stroud has regressed greatly, if you ask me. I don't know the answer and I am not sure we waste picks on a MAYBE.
  3. I've read your other posts. That's not 100%. You're gambling that some FA is going to be our savior. We struck lightning once with Jake relieving Rodney Peete. Who's the next Jake? You don't know and neither do I. You're speculating. I want exactly who is going to be your savior. You probably can't pick one because every FA has flaws, which is why they aren't starting in this league.
  4. I didn't write the metric. You can probably say every single QB that has a GWD under his belt was because of someone else. That doesn't fly with me. You want to nitpick that's your choice. Going by the metric he has 9 GWD. If you think is should change get with the NFL and get it changed but I am not going to say this guy gets credit but BY doesn't.
  5. First of all the out was not caught because XL slipped and was the only person who could have caught that ball. I'm not sure where you get that it was almost intercepted but go ahead and believe your story. The kick was in the direction we wanted the ball from the opening kickoff. Do you think Fitzpatrick didn't try several kicks in that direction before the game and after half? Do you think we just winged it. Come on, OK so he missed one earlier. Kickers can't adjust. You make it sound like it was a wing and a pray. I saw the game. Yes and we still got 21 yard from the running game. We also got two first downs via that pass. So it isn't like it was 100% we were going to run. You have your blinders on and hate BY so much that you can't give him any credit because it defeats your narrative that he completely sucks. What I have yet to here is you 100% for sure solution. Which QB are you going to bring in that GUARANTEES that he'll be better than BY. See the difference between you and me is I understand that he isn't the greatest QB to play the game. But he has strengths and he continues to win whether you like it or not. You and I have been on this forum for many years and agreed and disagreed on many topics. I don't think I have ever seen you so filled with so much hatred for a player than BY. I'm just going to leave it here to agree to disagree because you aren't going to change my outlook and I definitely am not going to change yours. I do appreciate no personal attacks. Someone said it earlier. Ride with our game manager until a Mahomes falls into our laps.
  6. That's your opinion. Our rookie QB nailed it with a couple of extra yards to spare. You can give all the what if's you want but the plan worked. We chose to go in that direction for the exact reason we won the game.
  7. What is your obsession with passing yards. We are a run first team. Ball control to minimize high powered offenses from getting too many chances. Rico does a great job of making it where we can pass as needed not winging it down the field. Is BY the greatest QB ever to play the game, not by a long shot, does he win games for us. By the Game winning drives criteria, he does. You can manipulate how many yards he threw for but the bottom line he's has now 9 GWD to his credit.
  8. That wasn't almost picked off. Please stop. They felt they were in close enough range not to risk a fumble or INT. Gotcha that you hate BY but give credit where credit is due.
  9. Overall not a great game for BY but the final drive he accounted for 20 of the 40 yards to get us into field goal range. That's correct right? You complain about the entire game but won't give credit for the two first downs of 10 yds each. You also, have yet to agree that the wind had a huge impact on BYs pedestrian numbers.
  10. I've never said that BY couldn't be replaced. I don't think he has the strongest arm in the league. Everyone complains about how many yards he threw for on a very windy day. Sure, we relied on the running game and the team that launched bombs lost partially due to the wind. Love should have had 2 picks because of the wind. What also bothers me is all those haters have no solution. There isn't one QB in the draft or even one QB free agent that is going to resolve this issue. We can sit here and bitch and moan about how many yards BY has thrown for but won't acknowledge that he's the QB of record for our last 4 wins. Andy Dalton has a big arm but we didn't get close to winning with him. Running the ball and defense has always been the key to success in the NFL. I don't care if you have the best QB in the game, you're going to struggle without it. As great as Mahomes is, even most analyst say they lack a running game to go deep in the playoffs. What I want in reply is. What's your solution that is 100%, no questions about it, better than Young, Name me one QB that is available or will be available to beat out Young.
  11. I agree, what I have seen from him is nothing to get excited about. Who I do like is Simpson in Alabama. The guy has a cannon of an arm. Seems to be very bright and I think last I saw he was late 1st but we'll see as the season goes on how he drops or climbs in the QB standings.
  12. Nothing new, Run the ball and stop the run has always been the key in the NFL. So many on here don't want a game manager. They want Dan Marino or Dan Fouts to be throwing the ball. (neither of them won a SB)
  13. But neither is 100 per game. Sunday's game was very windy. Both Young and Love felt it. I'm no NFL QB but I can throw a football quite well. Throwing in a strong wind is very difficult. The shorter the throws the better chance you have of maintaining the zip on the ball. The longer the ball is in the air the velocity decrease quite quickly. Young's throw that was intercepted was the exact route XL scored on in Miami, but it was easily picked off due to the strong wind. Love should have had two picks against him and both of them died in the wind. So, while throw bombs is cool you have to take the conditions into account.
