DaveThePanther2008's Achievements

Definitely not warrented. He struggled his first season but you can attribute some of that to who was playing next to him. He's definitely better in the run game and gotten better a PassPro. IMO worth keeping for a career.

Perfect analogy. Great Movie BTW seen it several times. One of my favorite movies.

ESPN’s Benjamin Solak on Panthers LT
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Very much so, IMO it's going to be a must for Morgan to hit it big in the next 2 drafts. I think if he can fill the roster with good offensive linemen, we can afford to lose Lewis and Hunt down the line. Icky will be a cornerstone, we need to keep Mays and Christensen and find a new RT in the draft to replace Moton when his contract is up. -
DaveThePanther2008 started following Young's Toughness and Remaining Schedule
-
So we have a pretty tough schedule for the remainder of the season. I believe I saw where it's the toughest remaining schedule in the league. To even think about the playoffs we IMO have to, at minimum, win three of the remaining six. 49ers - We will have to play an amazing game to win this one. We are down to backups at LB (at least for now) and Kittle is probably going to have a big day. CMC must not go off on us. PFF had a pregame analysis and actually the two guys running the show were split on who wins. They even said it was disrespectful to the Panthers to be 7pt underdog. Evero is going to have to have a great gameplan. I'm on the fence but this game is in SF and I think we lose. Rams - We're at home that is about the only advantage I see in this game. LA is one of the best offenses in the league and I just don't think we have the firepower to beat them. The only way we win is if we can control the clock and keep LA's offense off the field. Saints - We have to go into this game on a mission. WE HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME. Hopefully, Canales has a better gameplan and we win. This is a very winnable game. TB x 2 - The only chance, IMO, of winning the NFCS is we have to win both games. Many talking heads say TB is faltering some and can be had. By week 15 and 17 we should be hitting on all cylinders. If we win, it's going to have to be a pretty mistake free. Seahawks - they have a very tough defense, and I think we get shut down. Our only hope is to pressure Darnold into mistakes like he did this past weekend with 4 INTs. As with the Rams we are going to have to keep this a low scoring game. My hope is 49ers- Win Rams - Loss Saints - Win Bucs@Home - Win Seattle - Loss Bucs@TB - Loss 9-8 Record My Fear 49ers-Loss Rams-Loss Saints-Win Bucs@home - Loss Seahawks - Loss Bucs@TB - Loss 7-10 record

Hubbard says he might have rushed back
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed, Starting with Hurney and going to Fitterer just put us further down the list. Very few starting caliber players. Many don't like Morgan but overall, I think he's done a great job bringing quality FA and drafting well. No GM is going to hit on every pick. That said I also think DM learns from his mistakes. Most importantly keeping our owner out of the decision making is part of the reason we are starting to climb out of the hole. -
Hubbard says he might have rushed back

Yes, I notice he also ran hard like Rico has been. He didn't dance around as much. It would be great to get both of them back hitting 5-10 per run. -
No beef at all. I agree with it. My point is several folks on here like to say he didn't deserve this win or that win because somebody else did all the work. My point is, the criteria is set and if he is the QB of record when the GWD occurs he gets credit regardless of how much he had to do with it.

Tremble did nothing more than Beast Mode on that play. I loved his fight for every yard. Most of Coker's receptions were critical in each drive. I'm glad to see he's getting more targets.
-
It's a hellava lot harder to jam a receiver if he's a yard behind the line of scrimmage. He's able to get going sooner. Plus, I think it is harder to put the best DB on him in the slot.
-
Not to mention he runs like running water. The guy seems to glide along.
-
You asked me a couple of weeks ago would I pick up his 5th year option. I didn't answer because I wasn't sure. He would have to really ball out these last 7 games. If he can manage to get us to 8 or 9 wins, I would say yes, they will pick up his option. I read where we have the most difficult remaining schedule. I don't want almost wins like we had last year against KC and Philly, I want wins. We are going to have to beat TB at least once and beat at least one of the NFC-W teams.

Bryce Young every time I give up on him
DaveThePanther2008 replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm pulling for him, but I am not going to get sucked in again as our future QB. I want him to continue to get better, but he has to show that it's not once or twice a season he has a stellar game. Atlanta is a mess and we seem to have their number. Last year we went toe to toe with KC and Philly but ended up losing. We have the Seahawks, 9ers and Rams coming up. We have to win at least one of those games to consider ourselves turning the corner. Not to mention we have to beat TBx2 and NO. Show me a couple of good wins and we'll go from there. -
He was battered but would not quit. That's leadership. I can guarantee that the players picked it up a notch with Young's toughness.
-
We've seen several starting QBs go down this season. Young took a beating yesterday but kept coming back for more. Win or lose he gain a lot of my respect just for coming back. I did not want to see Dalton come in. You can hate his skills but there is no way you can argue about his toughness.
