Russell Wilson gets divorced

This thread has nothing to do with college football allegiance. You ACC fans all come off looking like idiots when you squable over nothing.

I've only vaguely heard it mentioned but to me the story here is clear. Russel Wilson sells himself as a man of God that takes trips to the Children's hospital with his wife. He has these stories about how god chose Seattle for him because he picked a hat out of a box. He tries to market himself as good guy Gregg. Then divorces a woman he only recently married right before negotiating a multi million dollar contract.

We all live by our own code. Some of you think what he did was smart. To me what he did was hypocritical. Literally my only problem with it is he tried to sell himself as a role model. I can respect an athlete that admits they aren't worthy of being a role model.

And you come across as patronizing. For starters a message board is used 90% of the time to squabble over nothing. This isn't the Panthers front office....we're allowed to argue over nonsense with strangers. It's message board dude.

Now to address your statement as to saying he's a hypocrite because he attempts to be a role model but got divorced...dude get over yourself. Do you know Russell Wilson personally? Do you know what happened in their marriage? Maybe somethings happened that were simply unforgivable and they had to part ways.

You can absolutely be a Christian role model and be divorced. I've yet to meet the perfect Christian and I've yet to meet the perfect role model. It's not as if he's going around saying "hey every one get divorced like me!"....dude is clearly going through a tough time in his life and had to part with his wife. He is still putting his faith above all and a good dude I'd love for the kids I have someday to emulate as a person. You should climb down from that high horse and get back to reality. None of our role models are perfect. They're human just like us.

She looks like the typical Moms up here in Cornelius/Huntersville that don't have to work and have drained a bottle Pinot Grigio by noon.

I saw he's only making like $650K this year. If she's divorcing him, she should have waited a year for the big contract.

By all relative comparisons.....she's still made out pretty good.

You have no idea what any of the circumstances are.  It is beyond stupid to judge someone because they are getting divorced.  What if she cheated on him?  You don't know jack poo about what happened, yet you're quick to assume he's doing it to save his big jackpot contract coming up.
