Panthers Meeting with Adams for 2nd Time

Also states we are highest on cooks and lee.

For the lazy:

The Panthers are working out Fresno State WR Davante Adams for a second time, according to draft insider Tony Pauline.

"I’m told the top two receiver targets for the Panthers are Brandin Cooks of Oregon State and Marqise Lee of USC," Pauline added. Adams has also visited the Falcons, Lions and Chargers, as well as being worked out by the Titans. He should be a second-round pick.

I can see a possible trade back of 28, pick up an extra 2nd and 4th, and get OL and WR in the second. Probably the ones we wanted all along. Somebody is going to drop to. 28 that no one expected and maybe we can capitalize with some extra draft picks.

if Bridgewater drops to that pick and the Jags, Texans, or Cleveland haven't taken a qb yet they would be very stupid not to trade up for him

Bridgewater, Savage, Garoppolo are all going to be hot commodities around the end of the first and could potentially allow us to move back like 7-8 picks so one of those three teams can get their guy. That is the best case scenario for us in my opinion. Would Gettleman trade down? If the price was right, sure, but I still think we make our first selection at 28.

Browns would have the ammo, with 2 3rds and 2 4ths. but they also have the 26th pick, they could take their QB there. one interesting thing that Greg Gabriel said was that teams that decide to trade down, make their minds up weeks before the draft, and not wait until the last minute. you have to play out so many scenes to decide what would be best for your team. panthers have been looking at a lot of 1st-2nd round guys plus, no news about trading back which would be ideal since you would want to keep your hand close to you.

Only way I see DG trading up if the Jags or any other top 5 team want to give us their second round pick this year and their 1st or 2nd next year. Only way I see us trading up into the second round.

I was talking about moving back from 28 into the early second round with one of the QB-needy teams at the top of the second round.

most productive NCAA WRs over last 2 years...

140.9 ypg (1832 total) - Terrance Williams 2012

133.1 ypg (1730 total) - B.Cooks 2013

132.2 ypg (1719 total) - D. Adams 2013

132.4 ypg (1721 total) - M. Lee 2012

note Williams was the 7th WR taken last draft at #74 -but ended up with the 3rd most NFL receiving yards of anybody taken in that draft - 736 yds on 636 snaps

- 16.7 y/c

Yea I know. That's why I say if they want to draft one of those QBs bad enough. They pay the price. Like we did the year we drafted Stewart and Otah in the first round. If costed us a second round and our next year first just move back into the last first round that year just to get Otah. So if those QBs are still around and one of those teams want them bad enough. They pay the price or risk going into the second and hope those top QBs are there still.

10-12 WRs i can see go before #60.in no order.

1. Watkins

2. Evans

3. Beckham

4. Cooks

5. Lee

6. Benjamin

7. Latimer

8. Matthews

9. Robinson

10. Landry

11. Adams

12. Moncrief

13. Bryant/ Richardson

teams that have been rumored at wanting a WR are the Rams, Browns, Bucs, Eagles, Ravens, Jets, 49ers, Seahawks, Chiefs, Raiders, Redskins, Colts, Chargers and even the Dolphins/Titans.

That's about the number of WRs that go in the first THREE rounds typically. There should be a few more that go this year, but I doubt that many. A lot of teams need WR but they also have other needs.

The more I hear the more I think we go WR first, but if we don't I still think there will be quality guys available at 60, even some you mention there.

However, if I'm wrong we should see something by the first. Like if six guys go before our pick we should definitely go ahead and take someone. Frankly I want to go WR in the first anyway, but I still think a Moncrief or Landry type will be around at 60.
