Gronk is hurt, and hasn't done anything in a couple of seasons. Julius Thomas had one good year with Peyton manning running the offense. I'd say the only two better than Kyle Rudolph as a receiving TE are graham and Greg Olsen

Your argument is that Gronk is hurt?  I am pretty sure Kyle Rudolph only played in 8 games last year.

Just go look at the stats man.  This is a simple chart looking at TE efficiency where  DYAR means a tight end with more total value. DVOA means a tight end with more value per play.

Rudolph has a DYAR of -21 and a DVOA of -13.9%.  Out of 51 players evaluate (more than 25 catches) he was #43.

Top 3 in the league my buttocks.

You're assuming that I care about PFF or football outsiders stats.

I have made a handful of assumptions in this conversation.  Such as, you are capable of rationale thought and can be persuaded by facts.

I'm attempting to show you a players numbers and his performance based on individuals who play the same position.  When someone says, player X is clearly better than player Y, we have the ability to view their performance under similar conditions called NFL games.  Comparing these performances is the best way to accurately account for a players ability, hence what is meant when you say one player is better than another.

Or it could be complete coincidence that the two players you decided to counter my statement with are from the same University and that you are favoring them for reasons other than what they have accomplished on the playing field.

*Just because you don't understand something, doesn't make it wrong.

So, let's talk about QB situations, because obviously a TE isn't anything without a QB. Last season, as you said, he was injured and had horrible QB play, which you've left out of your argument.

Te year prior, however, Kyle made the pro bowl. (He also won the MVP there, but that's irrelevant).

In 2012, he had QB play still, and managed to haul in 9 TDs. Which our him at 4 TDs over Greg Olsen while an offensive TE specialist was still calling the plays, and only two less than Gronk who had a massive year with Tom Brady as his QB.

Is that rational enough?

Yes, Kyle Rudolph had one year where he scored 9 touchdowns, in his other years playing TE, he never scored more than 3 TDs.  Of those 9 touchdowns, 7 came from throws inside the 10 yard line and over half of them were in garbage time (scored in the 4th quarter where the score differential was 10+)

So, he scored most of his TDs where TEs usually score their TDs? That's gotta be an anomaly.
