The best return at 28 (+WR talk)

It's a good discussion to be had about Moses. It can be argued Su'a-Filo is the most sure bet at 28 but peeps hate OG 1st round talk. I also think we have plans for Chandler and could end up with a UCLA left-side reunion protecting Cam.

What i said earlier if you hear the player, coaches talk. They don't seem as concern about the oline. But then again it could just be coaches talk. So i have no idea. I still could see Warton returning if he doesn't retire.

I'm surprised Jordan Matthews isn't getting more love

I don't think that people can make up their minds about Matthews.  I think some can legitimately see him as a possible WR1 or 1-2 hybrid. But, then again, who's to say he won't be JAG, with his so-so speed and suspect ability to separate? I don't know, but I don't believe he is pro-ready today. By the beginning of the season? Maybe.

For some of these WRs, their draft position will come down to a game of chicken between clubs. I would say that Matthews squarely fits that bill.

if all the top OL and DBs are gone, Beckham/Lee/Cooks would be what most would have us taking in their mocks. What would make it more interesting if all the top OL and DBs are gone, and the top 5 WRs are gone (Watkins, Evans, Lee, Beckham, Cooks), what WR do you want? In that case most mocks have us going Kelvin Benjamin. I'm surprised Jordan Matthews isn't getting more love

I think fans like Matthews a lot more than the experts.  I've seen more than a couple say they think he will only be a #3 receiver.

The problem, from what I understand, is that while he has good straight line speed, he has to build up to it.  Also, he doesn't have much explosion, so he can't break away from the defender to open up when the ball arrives.  This all equals a guy that will struggle to get open, and will have to make a living by making contested catches...but another problem I have read is that he isn't a great leaper, which would make those contested balls even tougher.

Most of the questions about Matthews had to do with speed. He ran a sub 4.5 40yd dash at the Combine. He's a guy who always seems to be at the backburner of peoples' minds, because he isn't the sexiest of picks. Like Fiz has said on these forums before, if you watch Matthews play, you basically see a receiver who would've been considered an elite player in 1990. He's that type of receiver. His game is completely different than any other prospect in this Draft.

Matthews is going to be a Pro Bowler, I'd almost guarantee it, barring any injury or set-back.

IMHO it strictly depends on a run at QB. If they start going like hot cakes it's Christmas in Charlotte. If they don't.......

It's still Christmas in Charlotte because early 2nd round teams will inquire about coming back to take a Manziel or Bridgewater. Our position is enviable because no one is saying so. NFL 101.

With the way the rumors are shaping up, along with boards and risers and fallers and such,  Our picks might come down to taking a good DB rather than a reach for an OT.

Roby or Fuller might be far better picks than Moses or Cyrus at 28.

Currently, guys that might be sitting there with grades making them worthy of the pick:

Fuller

Roby

Shazier

Lee

Borderline:

Adams

Latimer

Robinson

Still crossing my fingers hoping that QB's drop and folks like Jax want to get back into the first to get ahead of Houston.

Answer me this, when did Latimer start sniffing a 1st rd grade? Just cause the Hack job Kiper says so? He goes in the first then it's AJ Jenkins all over again! Talk about a reach! Most free lance boards, he isn't even a top 10 WR

That probably has to do with him missing the combine because of injury. He wasn't able to light it up on a nationally televised stage.

Then his pro-day came around and he performed like a first round talent across the board. Speed, size, athleticism, and soft hands with a mean streak and physicality at the position. Guy had something like 23 reps on the bench. I am just not sure it is a reach. He is an impressive prospect with a basketball background that hasn't tapped his potential. I think he has quite a bit of upside and someone like Proehl could do wonders with him.

Latimer would replace the blocking ability of LaFell, give us the size that 89 lacked, and finally give Cam a legitimate weapon to grow with for the future.cHe also was 1 of 30 players invited to attend the NFL Draft...so certainly it is a real possibility he lands somewhere in the first now. Some WR needy teams in the first have met with him and worked him out privately.
