The best return at 28 (+WR talk)

*good amount of speculation to get a WR discussion going

Beyond Watkins and Evans..a good debate lies with the wide receivers and value at our pick.  I think that team's big boards across the league vary a ton if you were to look at their 3rd-10th ranked wideouts.  Now people love analyzing who's "worth it" at our pick, or who's "pro-ready but still has a great ceiling" or whatnot but I just like looking at who's got the resume to back up a strong offseason.

First though: I know an OT may in fact be our first pick but there's a good chance Kouaj' and Moses are off the board.  Good linemen are coveted and it takes only 5 of the first 27 picks to take them away.  Fuller and Verrett could be gone as well and I can see DTs slipping who we just don't need.  There's a decent drop off after the top-2 safeties, Su'a-Filo is the unsexy OG pick, Shazier is the appealing OLB and Amaro could be there as well at TE.  I'm just trying to figure out where the value may end up being.

So..let's look at the general receiving crop (no particular order || prospects with some type of first-round buzz at one point or another):

-Odell Beckham Jr.

-Brandin Cooks

-Marquis Lee

-Cody Latimer

-Kelvin Benjamin

-Jordan Matthews

-Davante Adams

-Allen Robinson

-Donte Moncrief

-Jarvis Landry

So..Who do you think is likely gone by our picks (28/60)? How many WRs can you realistically see being taken before 28? Is there a chance they're all gone by 60?

Looking at teams as well: The Rams, Browns, Ravens (maybe), Lions, Jets, Chiefs, SD, and Eagles all could use an extra receiver.  Not saying they all draft one but that's 8 teams, plus the Niners, Pats, and Seahawks after us.

Also to note: Beyond this group is where imo the big drop off is in talent this year with maybe Abbrederis and Norwood as those solid #2s you can find beyond the 1/2 rounds or so.  I don't think a single one will be available by pick 3 and they're the guys if added I think give you a legitimate added dynamic to your offense.

So, the last Qs: Who would you not take at 28 (+why) and Would you be ok with missing out on all of these guys to shore up other areas for the future?

Only receivers I would take at 28 over offensive line.

I would be surprised if they were all gone by 60. I'm happy if we get OT at 28 and one of those guys at 60 if there is value.

I would too, but you never know.  It'd be great if Matthews, Landry, or Adams are sitting there at our 2nd pick.

If Moses and Kouaj are gone by 28 however, I'm wondering where the value truly is in that first round.  Maybe even with Moses available depending on what WRs are there.

That's why we can hope one of the Qb has fallen an we can trade into the top of the second round an get some extra picks,if no trade partner take the best db cause we have a big need there to.

Why do we keep referring to Moses as BPA? He's a second round talent. If we're looking at BPA in terms of hog mollies at 28, that would go to Su'a-Filo if he's still available. We do not need to reach on Moses just because we need a LT.

I really don't think he is going to be a LT in the pros.

Before 28, OBJ, Lee, and Cooks seem plausible.  I don't think all of them will be gone by 60.  Landry and Latimer could still be there.

Me neither. I see him as a RT at the next level.

It's a good discussion to be had about Moses.   It can be argued Su'a-Filo is the most sure bet at 28 but peeps hate OG 1st round talk.  I also think we have plans for Chandler and could end up with a UCLA left-side reunion protecting Cam.

Most drafts have about 3-4 first round WRs taken, and usually 11-12 go by the end of the third. That said, this draft is stronger than most there but not so much that all of the top 12 go by 60.

There are guys I'd be fine taking at 28 that could still be there at 60. Watkins, Evans, Lee, Cooks, OBJ, Latimer, and Benjamin probably won't be around at 60, but a couple of Matthews, Robinson, Landry, Adams, and Moncrief will still be around.

if all the top OL and DBs are gone, Beckham/Lee/Cooks would be what most would have us taking in their mocks. What would make it more interesting if all the top OL and DBs are gone, and the top 5 WRs are gone (Watkins, Evans, Lee, Beckham, Cooks), what WR do you want? In that case most mocks have us going Kelvin Benjamin. I'm surprised Jordan Matthews isn't getting more love

Honestly, I'd want Latimer, Matthews, or Adams over Benjamin.
