Zod's Official Panthers Mock Draft Rounds 1-3

I like it.

Check out what SD did last year, taking a RT high in the 1st, and he was a stud for them.

IMO, RT's these days are almost as important as LT's, especially if you have a mobile QB, and want to control the TOP by running the ball.

Why get him in the 3rd though when theres a GREAT chance hes still there at our 4th or possibly even 5th? Zod just doesnt know much about football or football operations so I give him an A for effort but these are not logical selections for the value they are currently rated [outside of moses maybe].

Because Abbrederis probably will not be there at the end of the fourth and there is not much there afterwards.  I have liked Abbrederis for a while so this could be my bias shining through.

I am interested, however, to see how the bottom half of the draft looks this year at WR.  If I am basing Abbrederis's talent on previous drafts, then he could drop to the 4th.

Really the only knock on Jared is his health, like someone mentioned he has a history of concussions. This made Ryan Swope drop to the 5th or 6th round last year.

Also I think taking Roberson in the 2nd is a reach. Jaylen Watkins would be the better DB from florid at that pick.

I honestly think Eagles want Odell Beckham over Cooks. Philly media is having a hard on for Beckham. Beckham have a very good first two steps which is essential in philly offense.

good point but I think he is could be going to the Jets at 18

either way between the Chiefs, Philly, and the Jets I see OBJ and Brandin Cooks gone by the time we pick

I'm not sure Moses will be considered BPA at 28...just depends on who is available.  No doubt they have to go tackle at least once in this draft, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them draft a pass-rusher or hell even a linebacker at 28.  That would be oh-so-Panthers.

Here we are folks, two weeks out from the draft. I have crunched the numbers and applied out proprietary algorithm.

The following is a spoiler alert.

Round 1 - Morgan Moses - OT - Virginia

The departure of Desean Jackson in Philly solidifies their Brandin Cooks selection, who was previously my pick for the Panthers. Moses may be best at right tackle, which would make for much camp intrigue. Could the Panthers really be considering Byron Bell at left tackle? Could be. Bonus: The Moses selection would open up the floodgates for corny Old Testament puns from our tired local media.

Round 2 - Marcus Roberson - CB - Florida

This is a classic best player available pick. Yes, wide receiver is a huge need, but cornerback is not far behind. Roberson is a value at pick 60. He won the starting job at Florida as a true freshman. He could be a day 1 starter as well, which is all you can ask for from a second round pick.

Round 3 - Jared Abbrederis - WR - Wisconsin

Abbrederis is the best route runner in the draft. Under the tutelage of Ricky Proehl he will develop into a reliable clutch possession receiver. This kid is first and foremost a football player, and Gettleman is a guy that appreciates that. Abbrederis is as close to pro ready as any WR in this draft.

I'd still prefer receiver in round two, but I could also go guard.  Corner if they're the BPA?  Sure.

If you do go corner in the second, how about Pierre Desir, Keith McGill, Stanley Jean-Baptiste (big corner) or Phillip Gaines?

Abbrederis does indeed remind me of Proehl, but from what I've read third round seems a tad high for him.  What about a guy like Kevin Norwood or going 'super size' with a Brandon Coleman?

No argument on Moses.  He's my choice.  i wouldn't scream if it were Cyrus Kouandijo but medical issues have been an achilles heel for this team..

Without using an existing mock draft as a basis or listing your own full mock there isn't much to base whether it is good, bad, or even realistic. Just picking 3 people doesn't give any perspective.
