Zod's Official Panthers Mock Draft Rounds 1-3

I am not going to crucify a man for sticking his neck out there with his mock draft--even if he picks Moses.  I think the biggest challenge is not to criticize because his picks do not fit my vision, but to look at these moves from a different perspective.

Abbrederis is the kind of WR people fall in love with because he is ready to go day 1.  Route running is a valuable commodity in the NFL, a skill many do not develop and many fans do not notice--they just think the QB threw another bad ball. Proehl will value his hands, his ability to beat the jam, and his routes. WRs bust so often because we value the wrong things going in.

If you think he is a low fourth or fifth rounder, watch the Ohio State game vs. Roby.

I will add that I think round 2 will be loaded with WRs, but if Rivera is true to his word about not needing a true #1, then Abbrederis might be a great pick in the third round.

Why get him in the 3rd though when theres a GREAT chance hes still there at our 4th or possibly even 5th? Zod just doesnt know much about football or football operations so I give him an A for effort but these are not logical selections for the value they are currently rated [outside of moses maybe].

You are nuts if you think Abredaris will be there at the end of the 4th or 5th.

My concern with Moses (who I'm beginning to think will be our pick unless something drastic happens with a player falling on draft day) is that he is a RT. He played that mostly in college. He admits that he likes blocking for RBs on the edge...

The guy is a through and through RT. Which still puts us with either waiting until later to get a LT. Or, actually trying out Bell and waiting for someone to get cut in te preseason.

You know we are going Oline in the first round. It's definitely certain if Cooks is gone ( my selection at 28 in my mock). I really like Abbredaris but have bought my ticket on the Moncrief in the 2nd or 3rd Train. He would be a great addition. Bring on May 8th!!!

No way JA goes in the 4th... Well not no way but a slim %.

I'm willing to bet anything that he is high up on our board. The things he does best is exactly what our coaching staff and GM values most in WR prospects.

The dude has literally destroyed DB, based on his route running alone. He might not be explosive but he's shifty and has the ability to get decent yac.

Check out the dude's tape for Ohio State for example. He massacred Roby who is expected to be a 1st rounder by same. Roby tried being physical with him, even interferes multiple times but Abbrederis just kept getting open, over and over again. His double moves are just a thing of beauty and he looks like a pro already.

Pre combine he was projected as a late 2nd, 3rd guy by most. Now with people salivating over measurables and upside he has fallen by the way side(like every year).

We need a good RT though don't we? He could start day 1 at right tackle. There is no prospect within our reach that could start for us this year at LT. I suspect we will look in free agency or trade before the season begins for a serviceable vet LT to compete with Bell.

Yeah, I totally agree that there is a need for RT. But, I think there are other prospects to be had later that could play RT just a as effectively. Fleming being the main one I'm thinking of.

Overall, I agree with your mock. Jared is a guy I'm sure we'll look at just due to how solid he is. Seems like a Gettleman guy. In the 2nd, I have no idea what we're going to do.

Ok, fair.. but its also nuts to think he or roberson will be the BPAs at our picks in the 2nd or 3rd, actually thats just downright retarded.

Retarded? What are you basing this off of?

Abbrederis could easily be BPA in the 3rd...
