Ayers is the best pass rusher in the league right now, granted Long had a "Down" season last year Ayers and Long are a fearsome tandem

I honestly am okay with them at 1 right now

Ayers? You mean Quinn. If you look at just pass rushing then I agree with St Louis, if you look at overall game then ours are tops.

that fact they acknowledged our guys at #2 should be a surprise, because let's admit, they aren't the biggest names in the industry. had Johnson not missed any time, he may have accumulated enough sacks to put us at #1.

I have no problem with Quinn and Long getting the nod. They did lead in the league in sacks after all. Quinn is a beast.

 

Ware and Miller has a lot of ifs and buts hanging around. Will Miller play 16 games next year? Will the ACL hinder his game? Its weird that he and Aldon could go the way of Merriman. Such a waste of talent.

 

I actually like the potential of Allen and Houston in Chicago. It'll be interesting to see what Pep does in GB. I don't think Bears fans think it will be much tho.

Don't forget peppers and Matthews. Not only are both on the decline imo, but they haven't played together either. These lists just get stupider and stupider. Idk how many sacks long got last yr, but I would say hardy and quin are about the same lvl and cj is above long. We never get the respect we deserve though

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. ESPN could LEAD with Panthers talk ... hell, have a 30 min Panthers special and the buffoons on here would STILL complain.

Nobody has mentioned how ridiculously monstrous the Hali/Houston pairing in. That is one freakishly scary pair of pass rushers.

 

^^ this even though they are OLBS.

 

Thing about the St Louis tandem is neither of them are as complete as our guys.  Long is a great player, but he's a bit better against the run and not quite the pass rusher as CJ/GH.  Quinn is the opposite, a bit weak against the run but an insane pass rusher.

 

I think overall our DEs are better due to their balance and versatility, but as a pure pass rushing tandem you can definitely argue Long/Quinn are better at that.
