Best ever Panthers draft?

The best draft pick was Newton followed closely by Luke Kuechly.   The best draft was 2001.  A draft has to include more than 1 great pick so 2011 doesn't really qualify.  2007 was very good as well although it took Johnson 3 years to actually become a starter.

Joe Adams hurts me though :(, I thought he was gonna be a beast

He was the later pick that everyone wanted. He was a guy brought up numerous times on here before the draft. I was finally like "they picked my guy!" And then you see how that turned out. I'm still disappointed. Maybe if he wasn't so tiny, he'd have another shot. No other teams jumped in him either.

2001 hands down, Smitty alone, now with jenkins and Morgan this is even more obvious.

Safe to say 2001 is the consensus pick here, and I think it's the right one.

 

Combine that with the first part of the 2002 draft and you have the foundation for our early success under Hurney.
