He was drafted by the raiders. Then the ravens traded for him. But yeah the should still be pissed.

 

Drafted 8th overall.

Forgot that he was drafted by the Raiders, but that makes perfect sense.  Also forgot he was a top 10 pick.  Wow.

I don't know why folks think he needs a job.  I don't know what he actually got or how much was guaranteed but his initial contract with Oakland was for 5 years and 40 million.  Unless he blew through it he should have at least gotten 10-15 million guaranteed.  He just strikes me of a job who got the big payday and then lost interest in football.

I've always wondered why more people don't just do that. Play 5 or 6 years, get rich then retire with your body intact.

It appears to be hard for a lot of players to walk away.  Look at Smitty, he just signed a 3 year contract going on 35.  I think that so many of them have made football such a big part of their life they don't want to give up what they have always known for the unknown.  Most players who retire happily either already have a job waiting or are very connected to their family and feel like football actually takes them away from family so they don't feel leaving football is so hard.
