The last five Panther drafts (Where are they now?)

25 players that Hurney drafted during his last 4 years (that is more than 6 per draft)  are probably not going to be on a roster in 2014, or they will not be noticed on a roster in 2014.

Between 2009 and 2011, only 3 players (out of 25 drafted) are still formidable factors in the NFL--Cam, Captain, and Kraken---A first rounder, a sixth rounder, and a seventh rounder.  (Point being that the sixth and seventh rounders were just luck).  The rest are either out of the league or will be in uphill battles for reserve roles on rosters.

Putting this in perspective, only 1 in 8 players he drafted doesn't suck. I could have drawn names out of a hat for 3 years and done better.  Not exaggerating.

I am at least hopeful that Gettleman can significantly improve our drafting and keep the pipeline of young talent in better shape.

When was the last time the Panthers had a full slate of draft picks?

2004 was the last time we picked in every round.

(seriously)

The number of picks we've had (and where they were) has varied wildly from year to year since.

That was the second time I've seen him up close.  The first time was right after we drafted him and I was in shock at how big that dude was.  When I saw him this weekend he was thin as a rail and looked like someone that would be hanging out on N. Tryon.

yeah jarrett was yoked coming out.  i'm still pissed that he busted because, physically at least, he would have only been limited by how good he actually wanted to be.  he didn't have blazing speed but he had the makeup of a rock solid #2 receiver at the very least.

And got paid pretty well to not get it. Too bad. No real reason he could not have succeeded in the NFL. Just another player to fall through the cracks.

On the flip side. We have some overachieverz waiting to get their chance in McNutt, King, Underwood, B. Will, and Barner. Not to mention Pilares. Gonna be something seeing how this all playz out.
