Speaking of oakland, did anyone see the espn special on that marinovich qb that went to so cal and then drafted by the raiders?

Was a good watch and kind of showed what happens when a player just loses interest in the game.

The thing that will keep Pryor in the league is his athleticism. Take that away and I'm not sure what he has to offer to a team. He's got a big arm but he's very raw, and considering he's finished year three of his career and he's still not improved significantly is "worrisome". I don't think its worth it bringing him here. For me, I think I'd rather we draft Logan Thomas if he was available in the 6th or 7th round to develop into Cam's backup, if the desire is to have a like for like guy.

Pryor wants to start, if he's willing to be a backup to Cam and sign for a minimum salary, then maybe...

1. Pryor is not a vested veteran and must go thru waivers so about 27 other teams have first shot at his 1 year $705,000 contract that is left on his rookie deal.

2. Cam and DA are attached at the hip. Last year they arrived together, got taped together and watched film together. It's highly unlikely, especially with Smithy's dismissal, that DA would be cut loose.

Smh@ this board. Pryor has shown flashes of ability. I would love to have him as a backup and try to mold him into a decent backup. I think he can play and maybe with the roght polish even start we have seen the ability. Worth atleast a 7.

For free?  Absolutely.  Gives you an athletic guy behind Cam and he's a competitive kid with real ability.  I'd love to get him in here.

Seeing a lot of people say 'similar skill set to Cam' and I could get behind that logic...if it were true.

 

Pryor is not that great a passer.  He can certainly run and can avoid a pass rush, but nobody's scared of him as a passing threat (Tressel certainly spent a lot of time trying to make him one).

 

Until he can both run and pass effectively, he doesn't have a 'similar skill set to Cam'.

Yes I saw this.  I think this would be a great pickup.  Similar in style and maybe he could learn from Cam about taking what the defense gives him.

 

Bring him in and let him battle it out with the others.  Can't hurt.
