Beer recommendation thread

i can't find hop drop in GSO to save my life. noda doesn't ship it so if you don't go drive down and pick it up yourself you can't sell it. most places won't bother. i'll be in CLT on sunday so i'll have to try to find some then.

 

just picked up a case of great divide nomad pilsners, will report shortly

Wife Beater Juice, as we call it. A decent lager, but avoided if going on a session - I swear there's chemicals in it which messes you up.

 

Give me a Chimay or Duval before that crap.  Chimay is pretty dang good, but you just can't put them down like we do the fishing trip beers in which I will partake many of this weekend.  Save the good stuff for night games of cornhole, darts, guitar playing, movie watching and steaks.

I enjoy having friends try what I think is one of the best IPAs around. So I'm happy to ship a few 4-packs if that's what it takes.

On another note...I spent 5.5 great years in college at UNCG. It's time the Boro stepped their game up and started carrying CLT beers.

I'll call Matty at Old Town tomorrow and see if I can make something happen

nice! i have a degree from UNCG, collecting another in two weeks. old towne became one of my primary hangout spots after spring garden pizza shut down. i was up there yesterday in fact.

 

to keep on topic, while i was there i tried Red Brick Hoplanta, which was pretty damn tasty despite being from fuging falcons territory.

Plenty. And I'm a big IPA fan.

BTW...the bar just served me a Coors Light. What I wouldn't do to trade it for a Bud Light

I ordered an IPA from a fancy resturant the other night called Big Daddy IPA and it was pretty bad.

Drank some BabyMaker last night at our work party.....good stuff.

 

Im a huge fan of IPAs, and they are better for you overall, google it!!

 

A few of my favorites:

 

Sweetwater 420, and their IPA, poo anything they make is good.- based out of ATL and mainly only found in the SE

Bells Two Hearted- yummy

Hoppyum- SERIOUSLY hoppy, but delicious if you enjoy the bite of it.  

Noda Hop Drop n Roll- local brewery

Birdsong Higher Ground IPA- local brewery

Wicked Weed is pretty good but ive only had it once

 

Dogfish makes a good IPA too, of course. the 90 and 120.

All good recommendations. Freak by Wicked Weed is tasty. Baby Maker is one of my favorites. The local breweries have out out some nice stuff
