Beer recommendation thread

Okay... admittedly not a big beer drinker simply because it does nothing but fill me up and make me piss... but reading thru the thread I decided to grab a 6 while grocery shopping. My entire selection of IPAs was a grand total of 5... because in my little 5,000 population eastern NC town there is only a Food Lion. Now, I could drive to Rocky Mount and hope for something better at the Harris Titless, but the thought of driving over just for a taste...

Anyway, I grabbed some Waterfront IPA... I dunno... have at it afficionados!

Try Best Way on Walker, near the intersection with Elam.   I was in town recently and got pretty excited to see they had both Hop Drop 'n Roll and Jam Session.

that intersection... when the blind tiger, wild magnolia, suds and duds and that other bar where all there, that was a great spot to hear some seriously good music.

I haven't thought about Wild Magnolia in years, but that place was fantastic with great food and good music.  Sucks that the NC dept of revenue had to shut it down.

As far as beer goes, Birdsong's Jalapeño Pale Ale  is my current favorite and well worth trying for anyone who visits Charlotte.

I thought since we had a thread discussing the watered down piss that is bud light, we could discuss some good beers.

I'm into IPA's. I really like Firestone, Stone, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, and most local Californian IPA's.

What are you into? What do you recommend?

If you like IPA, try Triple C's Baby Maker IPA. Goes down much smoother than the average Double.

My personal favorite is St. Bernadus Abt 12. Pricey but well worth it.

My favorite double has to be Firestones double jack. Do they have the baby maker on the west coast?
