After Much Contemplation: Happy to Play the Heat.

At first when I learned we were going to play the Heat, I automatically thought of another story.......David and Goliath.  Not to get biblical or anything, it's just that the task of playing and beating the two time defending champs seemed too daunting to not have a paralleled connection to that story.

As I was reflecting on what our Cats must do to have a chance......a warm calming feeling began to course through my veins.

This is the hardest it gets.  We're a big time underdog.  In any of the possible playoff scenarios we would have been considered the underdogs regardless of who we played.  Typically a team is quantified by how far they go in the playoffs.  However we have a chance to take our respect right away.  If we were to win this series.....or even take it to 7, the face of Charlotte basketball will forever be changed for the better.   Playing the Raptors wouldn't have provided the same opportunity that playing the Heat will give us.  We're in the national spotlight now, and the whole country will finally get a chance to see our team perform.

With 3 wins, signing Carmelo Anthony becomes a real possibility.  A great platform finally would be created for Charlotte to attract big time players.

I actually do believe we have a chance in this series if the Cats play their best ball, don't back down, and punch Lebron in the mouth from the very first tip off.

Kemba Walker is the most important player in this series for us.  He has to shoot well.  A consistent jumper is the only thing keeping him from greatness.  He's going to have to be hot for at least 5 of these games for us to have a chance.  The good news,  Kemba is a great competitor, he's carried UCONN on his back and now he gets his first crack at the playoffs.  We drafted him partly because we thought that he thrived in big games. We need him to takeover some games.  I expect him to come out with max effort and concentration. This is his chance to become a flat out superstar and I expect him to try and seize that opportunity.

Anyway bring on the Heat.   The biggest opportunity this franchise has ever had.

Go Cats!

"I actually do believe we have a chance in this series if the Cats play their best ball, don't back down, and punch Lebron in the mouth from the very first tip off.  " I think the physical play on Lebron and for all of Miami really is what will make or break us. No cheap hand check fouls, if you foul it needs to hurt. Makes a difference later in the series.
