Bud Light

I haven't had too many beers outside of the typical light beers. Miller Lite is my go-to at the moment. Though, I rarely drink anymore. I can't even remember my last beer, really. I guess my last one was at the Saints game this past season.

But yeah, fug Bud Light. poo is gross.

If I'm watching the diet I go light beers M-W if I have one. Usually Miller, Corona or Amstel light.

I'm more of a Mexican beer guy than anything. I like Tecate in a can as my go to summer/fun time beverage. Add some rock salt to the top, pop in a lime, enjoy. Modello in a can is great. Bottle for Dos Equis and Pacifico.

I'm not a beer snob at all. I love a good craft beer or regional. I get all the local beers here in Charlotte everytime I go out. Copper, Triple C, Noda and so on.

Beers for me go with my mood and what I'm doing. If I'm grilling I like a good beer that goes with the grill flavor.

Interesting that there is talk about canned beer on this thread. MANY craft beer breweries are moving towards canning their beers now because the technology to line the inside of the cans to remove the aluminum taste is so great. They obviously don't line the inside of domestic beers, but try a Hop Drop from NoDa and it's awesome out of a can. Not to mention the other benefits of canning for flavor preservation such as - no exposure to light and reduced space for air. Don't be surprised if most breweries don't start canning eventually.

Ironically enough, I'm actually throwing a canned beer festival in June at Brazwell's. We're focusing on craft beers that can their beers. I'll be updating the list of breweries by next Wednesday - I've got 11 commitments so far.

If I'm in town and I'm sure I am with World Cup going on, I will just walk up the street and check this baby out. Good idea.

Macrolagers such as Bud Light, Coors, Miller Lite, etc are not even beer. No, seriously, it's not beer. That crap is brewed with 90% corn and rice. Beer consists of water, barley, hops, malt, & yeast. That's it. I wouldn't give that trash to a dog.

Macrobrews such as Blue Moon, Yuengling, Sam Adams, Guinness, etc are at least real beer. Although they are still garbage and I wouldn't drink it. If they were priced as cheap as Bud Light maybe, but they are overpriced and for the money you can get something 10x better.

Try a real beer such as Stone Best By IPA, Bell's Hopslam Ale, Olde Hickory Imperial Stout, etc. You'll never drink poo "beer" again. Craft beer is amazing, just find what you like. IPA, Stout, Ale- there's something for everyone. You can even get bourbon barrel aged brews if you like the hard stuff.

Also, the can arguments are stupid. The canned stuff you're taking about tastes gross because of the contents, not the can Many crafts breweries use cans. There are many world craft brews out there that are only available in aluminum cans. Darker beers such as stouts are usually put in bottles, but hoppy stuff like IPAs are generally canned by craft breweries. Cans are actually better unless it's something like a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout that is 10-15% abv and needs to be cellared a few years. Plus they usually sell that stuff in 22oz bombers.

Life is short, drink good beer.

ranks us 8 . considering the size of asheville up against the others i would say this is one of if not the best beer cities in america.

8. Asheville, North Carolina

History: 5

Breweries: 7

Bars: 7

Events: 9

Yes, Asheville. It's relatively new to the beer scene, but with 11 breweries yielding the highest per-capita total in the country, it's already building a global rep. A day trip to Asheville offers a chance to try roughly 50 local beers, almost all of which can be tasted at The Thirsty Monk, a must-see on any Ashevillian beer pilgrimage.

But it's less the number of breweries or bars here than it is the culture that earns Asheville its cred. There is serious pride in the local craft, and its small-town appeal means all you have to do is roll over and you'll find yourself in one of the city's renowned breweries, like Wedge, Green Man and Wicked Weed.

The city also pumps beer into mustards, shampoos, ice creams, cakes, dog biscuits, and soaps. And with at least five major beer events, Asheville keeps the party going all year round with its own Oktoberfest, Beer Week and Winter Warmer, Best Firkin, Beer City and Brewgrass Festivals.

Top Draws: Asheville Shiva IPA, French Broad Ryehopper
