Don't care. I truly want (no cliche intended) the best player available.

If one of Manziel/Bortles/Bridgewater hypothetically takes the 'Aaron Rodgers' Dive and our choice at 28 is a player graded 1-2 or Manziel/Bortles/Bridgewater, I'd prefer to take Manziel/Bortles/Bridgewater. Because it would be a VALUE pick. And if he does turn out to be a good player, then one or the other of your 1st round QBs would have great trade value (don't really think any would be better than Cam, but I'm keeping a hypothetically open mind).

I'd rather add value to the team with a value player at ANY position rather than reach for a project on a wish and prayer.

If any of the top QBs are available I would be seeing which team wants to give up the most to trade up. If we could trade back 5-10 spots with Jac, Hou, Cle or Oak and pick up an extra 3rd I'd be all over that

For a good reason.  If you don't have them, all the money you're spending on QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs is much less valuable.  But, being honest, I don't think it would cost a ton to upgrade our current OT roster.

Look across our roster. We have a poo ton of those guys right now. Cheap, yet solid, starters. And key back-ups, and STs as well. You got to have those guys. Gman fills out the back end of the roster with solid players, and financial responsibility. He has done well with these type players.

That said. This IMO, is a very important draft. He got 6 rookies to give us a lift. I think because we are in better shape at this point this year than last, we won't see that many impact rookies this year. I am thinking 5, with 2 being starters. LT, and CB. 1 as STer part time player. With the other 2 fighting within themselves to get some separation from the other WR on the roster.

We are close. If I can see it. So can the Powers that Be. If they can see it. Shouldn't it behoove them to address it? I think so. Get me my fugging LT, and 2 WR to fight it out against each other for years. And THEN. And only THEN, can you go and play with the rest of the draft.

I don't think either one of those guys are off our radar.  Seems pretty clear this offseason that Gettleman is trying to upgrade the safety positions.

Not many positions on our team that cannot be upgraded rather easily. That is kinda the point. You have to start somewhere. Guess what? We are there. Last year showed us this year can be competitive. A couple more players at the right positions, and we are better than last year. We are really that close.

A team with cheap, solid players. When we can afford it. We can upgrade. That is the beauty of the starting point. It only gets better. And we are not in bad shape to start with either. So there is that.

Dennard or Gilbert, Lee or Cooks, Moses or Martin

Pie for Dennard. As a Spartan Homer, I would love for him to land here. He would make our CB better the moment he signs that contract.

As a 3 year starter he only had trouble with 3 receivers. McNutt, Robinson, and that fuggin' Ambederois kid. Which is why I am kinda interested to see what McNutt can do. If Darquez can't slow you down, I want to see what you can do.

article titled "How NFL Teams Put Together a Big Board for the NFL Draft" by a guy that worked with Gettleman for four years with the Giants (from 1998-2001)

Greg Gabriel is a veteran of 29 NFL seasons. He started as a part time scout with the Buffalo Bills in 1981. In 1984 he became an area scout for National Football Scouting and then was hired by the New York Giants in January of 1985. Gabriel was with the Giants for 16 seasons. In 2001, Gabriel left New York to become Director of College Scouting for the Chicago Bears for nine seasons. He also spent six years on the NFL College Advisory Committee.

he says 30 years ago they rated every draft prospect and put them all on the board, but now teams focus on a much smaller pool to get to know them better. like he wrote:

I used to tell my scouts, "I want to know a lot about a few, not a little about a lot." In other words, I knew everything there was to know about the players who made the final board. With that in mind, it's become a lot easier to make decisions.... the last thing you need on draft day is confusion. ... If the board is done correctly, you should have a list of names that is very easy to work with.

note he said something that directly pertains to our situation this year:

"You have to know the strengths and weaknesses of the draft. If you go into the draft needing a wide receiver, a corner and an offensive tackle, your plan should take into consideration the depth of the draft at those positions. Where is the drop-off in talent?

This year the wide receiver position is very deep. There may be eight or nine receivers who have first-round talent, but that many receivers won't go in the first round. So in your preparation you may decide to draft the corner or tackle first and then come back and take the receiver because you know you can get a quality receiver in the second round."

This is what I fear.  At some point, I think you see a run on WRs and who knows when that will be. You might get stuck looking at all of those guys gone at #60.

Mel Kiper just released his latest Mock and he does indeed project a run on WRs:

3 Sammy Watkins Jacksonville Jaguars

7 Mike Evans Tampa Bay Buccaneers

15 Odell Beckham Jr. Pittsburgh Steelers

18 Brandin Cooks New York Jets

22 Kelvin Benjamin Philadelphia Eagles

23 Marqise Lee Kansas City Chiefs

27 Cody Latimer New Orleans Saints

(28 Carolina takes OT Moses)

30 Jordan Matthews San Francisco 49ers

35 Davante Adams Cleveland Browns

48 Bruce Ellington Baltimore Ravens

57 Donte Moncrief San Diego Chargers

59 Jarvis Landry Indianapolis Colts

60 Josh Huff Carolina Panthers

still available:

Allen Robinson, Penn State

Paul Richardson, Colorado

Martavis Byrant, Clemson

Jared Abbrederis, Wisconsin

Robert Herron, Wyoming

Devin Street, Pittsburgh

etc

on Huff to Carolina at 60: "They got the tackle they needed in Round 1 and now take advantage of the WR depth in Round 2. Huff doesn't blow you away in workouts, but when it's time to compete in pads he consistently makes plays and competes for catches."

RE Kiper's board: 13 WRs taken in the first 60 picks seems really high. That's about one every 4.5 picks, and much higher than your typical draft.

That said, if we could get Moses and Robinson with our first two picks I'd be elated. I think Robinson goes earlier but it's very possible a top ten WR is still there at 60

I'm still in the WR camp but it's getting close. Cooks, Lee, and OBJ will definitely be gone but someone from the Matthews, Benjamin, Robinson, Latimer, Adams, Moncrief, etc. tier should still be there at 60.

I'd prefer a WR but don't want to reach - my top 6 are Watkins - Evans - OBJ/Lee - Matthews/Cooks. If one of those guys are there I hope he is the pick. If not, I'm all for Moses if he is available. But if we go OT in the first I hope we are prepared to be mobile in the second - we need to walk away with a top 10 receiver from this draft. If we've got to trade up then we need to pull the trigger.
