Trade down and pick up two second rounders. Best case scenario we get two starting players. Most of the good talent will be available in the second. In my opinion gentlemagic has a plan, wonder why he's been looking at all these prospects projected late rounders. There's your answer..

This is what I fear.  At some point, I think you see a run on WRs and who knows when that will be. You might get stuck looking at all of those guys gone at #60.

By the same measure (using that scouts logic): The Panthers may/could double dip at Wide Receiver, if they wanted to load/sure up their receiver corps.

This type of argument is used often leading up to drafts, but usually a couple of years down the road, those prospects turn out to not be as close as analysts said/thought.

Yeah, trust the experts. Like there's not a long list of 1st round busts, and UDFA's never start in the NFL.

The voting here is pretty even between OL and WR. I see half the Huddle disagreeing with whoever gets picked at 28.

We can function with a poor WR core. We did it last year. We can't function with a poor OL. We signed 3 WRs this off season. We signed 0 OL.

I would only go WR if there isn't a good value OL at 28. If there is a good OL and WR then you have to go OL.

If there isnt good value WR or OL then you do BPA.

I said Other because I would love to trade down.  I do not think it will happen though.  All things being equal I want OL but if there is much better value at another position, particularly if that is CB/WR, then I would go that route.

1 LT, and 2 WR in the first 3 rounds is all I ask. Not sure If I want my LT first, or my WR? All I know is I want my fugging LT, and I want him now. With Amini and Kalil, that would be a solid left side. I mean, really, is it really too much to ask to get 2 talented WR this year to grow, compete, and drive each other for the next 10 or so years?

Give me my trio of hope. You can play with the rest. Skill position players, with maybe another Olineman thrown in. Or a CB somewhere there in the middle.

Yahoo sports published this a couple day ago on our biggest needs and suggested we go with Morgan Moses, Marqise Lee or Jason Verrett at 28

No. 1 Team Need: Offensive Line

LT Jordan Gross retired. LG Travelle Wharton has considered doing the same. RG Nate Chandler was a liability down the stretch last season and RT Byron Bell always has been a liability, leaving C Ryan Kalil as Carolina's only stable starter. Amini Silatolu's (ACL) return should help, but the Panthers will enter May's draft with at least three line jobs up in the air. While its weak receiver corps has generated more national worry, Carolina's offensive line is in even worse condition.

No. 2 Team Need: Wide Receiver

The Panthers have a lot of needs for a team that finished 12-4 and earned a first-round bye. If OC Mike Shula has any designs on expanding the offense in his second year as coordinator, he'll need an alpha receiver. Accuracy is Cam Newton's biggest deficiency, so a wideout with a large catch radius could go a long way toward Cam taking a statistical leap. Journeyman Tiquan Underwood, 32-year-old Jerricho Cotchery, and 31-year-old Jason Avant are keeping the top of the depth chart warm.

No. 3 Team Need: Cornerback Carolina masked its secondary flaws with a dominant front seven throughout 2013, but GM Dave Gettleman can't view that as a bankable long-term approach. He needs more talent in the back end, particularly after losing top cornerback Captain Munnerlyn and safety Mike Mitchell in free agency. The Panthers should be able to get away with Charles Godfrey and Roman Harper at safety, but Antoine Cason and Melvin White would be a concerning tandem on the perimeter.
