I hate to say it but this is the FO's fault. They were just plain stupid not to get better depth at DT. It is almost impossible to stay healthy at a position all year and we really had no depth. I know we were strapped for cash but this just seems irresponsible. IMO this was the biggest need this off season and we did next to nothing (seeing as I consider Irvin to be a project at best) to address this need. I thought the FO did a great job except in this case. Lets just hope they see the writing on the wall and find a way to bring in some depth now. Robertson anyone?

Rep. You're exactly right. I hollered and hollered during the offseason that we were ignoring defensive tackle completely, yet everyone said it would be fine and that depth really wasn't important and that there was no one worth signing out there.

Congrats morons. We now have Nick Hayden as a starting defensive tackle.

Well Fox, you sit there with your thumb up your ass and don't even address the biggest weakness on the team. Now our best player is out. What are you going to do now? Still feed us this bullsh*t that you are still comfortable with the guys you currently have?

Of course he will. "Blah blah blah we're confident in Nick he's made great strides blah blah blah."

Depends on the severity and position. The Achilles is like a bow string stretched tight and provides all the push. It's the worst possible injury that comes to my mind for a D tackle.

I had a very small tear to mine, and "recovered" (well enough to walk) in about two month's. That was after my football days and I can tell you from someone who considers himself relatively tuff. I don't see how I could have managed to push off from a crouch with that. Carrying 300+ there's no way.

For his sake he'd probably been better off breaking an ankle (my nightmare injury)

From what I've read about other defensive tackles that have suffered similar injuries, best case scenario for Kemo is a December return.

Man we have a great linebacker core, with Harris helping... but damn man I dont want to go through a year saying if we had Kemo we wouldnt be getting run all on

I'm somewhat confident we won't go through the year wondering. I have confidence that Meeks knows exactly what to do with his personnel.

Yep it sucks, but best thing to do right now is forget Kemo was ever on the team. It's early enough his loss can be overcome with the right moves.

Yeah, best case.

I don't even like thinking about medical stuff, but the amount of tearing will be the deciding factor of how soon/if he ever plays again. If it's a small tear he could play late this year (actually I'll be surprised if he's not on the I/R by the end of the week). If he shredded it he's gone for good.

he gets verry little push, why is it everyone forgets 05 when we lost jenkins and had undrafted carstens and ancient buckner and finished 3 vs the run?

It wasn't Carstens and Buckner stuffing the run, we were fire zone blitzing like crazy that season to stop the run.

I am all for a new face/player there.

Kemo was good, but he wasnt the heart of the line out there.

I think Speed is going to be our direction this season.....
