So whats the plan moving forward?

I don't see what everyone is so panicked about regarding next year.  We have a good team....and we're in position to not only keep it together but also bring in some decent players to add on to it.

If someone before the season gave me these two options:

A)  Be a playoff team with a lot of cap room in the off season to improve the team.

                                      or

B ) Be a horrible team with a lot of cap room in the off season and some more picks in a weak draft.

I'm choosing A all day long.  With a winning team....we can actually get people to want to play here.  Especially with the Hornets rebrand.  I think some of you guys need to be prescribed some benzos or something.

1- extend Kemba

2- draft PJ

3- trade Henderson for a future pick

4- resign Biyombo

5- sign Sessions

6- sign Frye

7- MJ & Big Al lure Melo to the QC

8- watch LeBron run away from the division

9- BRING BACK THE BUZZ

starters-

Kemba Walker

PJ Hairston

Carmelo Anthony

Cody Zeller

Al Jefferson

bench-

Ramon Sessions

Gary Neal

Jeff Taylor

Chris Douglas-Roberts

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Bismack Biyombo

Channing Frye

Very versatile. Lots of great lineup choices depending on if you wanna go big, small, defensive, etc.

Great starting 5. Melo is probably the 2nd best scorer in the league. Al is easily top 10. Kemba is a good scorer who has vastly improved his distribution abilities. Hairston is a lethal shooter & will either free up Melo/Al or will score in chunks from being left wide open. Zeller does a good job rebounding & making hustle plays.

While that's arguably the best scoring 5 in the league it's severely lacking defensively. No problem. Off the bench comes MKG, a 6'8 20yo who is quickly becoming the best perimeter defender in the NBA. And Biyombo, a 21yo & one of the best shot blockers & rebounders in the league. Neither of them are scorers off the bench but it's okay, you have a pair of guards in Neal & Sessions who can score in bunches. Frye is a starting quality C who will give quality minutes in relief of Al. He can score, rebound, & defend.

You also have CDR & Taylor getting spot duty. Both very valuable & solid players.

If that's the lineup MKG will be starting SF and Melo would start at 4.

Carmelo isn't going to come here. Besides....he's never won anything. All of his teams have been bad.

My point from earlier. I get called a "casual fan" because I'm a realist. Bledsoe, Stephenson, or hayward would actually be able to come here. People think we can just grab melo + get whoever we want in the draft and ride off into the wind like bandits.

Obviously they know nothing about basketball.

And mkg can't shoot at all.

He's not just mildly bad on offense. He stinks.

There are players as good on D as he is that can play at the other end too. Why let them slip away?

We goofed grabbing mkg early. Face it.

Bledsoe and Stephenson are going to be near max players. Neither will be here, Hayward is no where close defensively to MKG and with Jefferson in the lineup the Sf needs to be a defensive minded player. It would be nice of that player could also shoot, but Theres very few players that can cover what MKG does on defens plus shoot the ball.

Hence that lineup of Hayward and Bledsoe being bad. Deng makes the most sense skill set wise, but best case is to improve the 2 and 4 while letting MKG do what he does best and play the wildcard/glue guy role for the team to make it work.

Basically your lineup kill the team and barely improves it.

I never said anything about MKG...I agree his shot stinks.  He is good finishing in transition and on offensive put backs though. It's his free throw shooting that gets me.  All in all...he's not a bad player but definitely not living up to where we picked him.

I just don't see how 1 defensive minded guy makes the difference.....

All the winning teams have players with similar skillsets. If you are so set on D but also want to win, it looks like you'll need more defensive minded players.

It never seems to work when there's a minority on the court. And yes I'm saying as far as D goes, mkg is all we have.

We either need to revamp with defensive players or get more offense. You can't just pile players in.

Yea deng can play. I was also looking to the future though.

You realize that by getting Deng you are sacrificing D for O, right? Your crazy if you think he won't start at SF and take mkgs mins....

You basically argued against my point and then proved it.

I'm going to go ahead and let you know what's going to happen...

With just over $21 million to spend in free agency, we're going to overpay for Rudy Gay (about a year and a half ago we were contemplating trading for him).

Some fans will like the signing some won't; we'll have to see how it plays out.
