Panthers meeting with...a center from USC

I disagree with you, and I'm betting DG does as well.

Again, Ryan is going to count right at 22 million MILLION against the cap over the next two years.  To think that he is uncutable, is foolish.

DG does not strike me as the type guy to pay a C that kind of coin.

Gettleman loves his hog mollies and Kalil is one of the best.   You just lost your left tackle that has been with the team for a decade.   Kalil is worth every penny.  Think he's gonna lowball Cam to save some coin.  Not a chance.

Some players need to get paid top dollar and Kalil is one of them.    If you are try to save money go to Walmart.  If you are trying to win championships.  You keep your Pro-Bowl players especially ones in their prime.

NOT A CHANCE IN HELL.

Marcus Martin (link)

Played center for Southern Cal...

Considered one of the best available at his position...

Rated as a 2nd to 3rd round prospect...

This all sounds vaguely familiar

USC's Marcus Martin meets with Panthers, Saints, Eagles

(yes, he can play guard)

It seems about every other guy we meet with is a projected 2nd round pick.

You are entitled to your opinion, however wrong it may be.

Unless Kalil takes a paycut, he will not be on the roster for the start of the 15 season.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for you.

Not every player needs to take a paycut to remain on the team.   His value is what it is.  He is the top center in the league and will remain on the team.

You guys think every Hurney deal was over paid and therefore it HAS TO BE CUT.  This deal was not a bad deal and Kalil will remain a Panther for a long time.

AS you say,  you are entitled to your opinion but you are the one wrong.   Kalil will be a Panther (without a paycut) for a very long time.

As a matter of fact, if Newton is signed to a long term deal I would not be surprised to see us Tag Kalil when his contract is up.  Especially if he makes the Pro Bowl again.

How comfortable are you with CJ's contract and cap hit over the next two years?

How comfortable are you with CJ and Kalil taking up 27M next season?

Sorry, may have to change it up a bit.

Kalil's dead money if we cut him is more than he will count against the cap in 15, looks like he is ripe for a restructure or extension after this season.  If not, they will let him play the next two and cut him before 16.

CJ's cap hit next year would be 17.4M, but if we cut him, only 6M in dead.  He will, most likely be gone after the 14 season, Kalil will stay through 15.
