Since, as I recall, it happened at a practice, I suspect Gettleman was watching something on the field for a few seconds before he responded.

After the season Gettleman was asked the same question and he answered immediately and said no 7 second pause this time.

There defense is as close to ours as ours is to Seattle's. Ours is better but they're right on our heels, same way we are with Seattle.

Being in the afc helps a bit. Sure ne, denver and sd consistently move the ball. In the nfc though even some of the poor teams have offenses that can put on a lot of pressure. Detroit, chicago, atl, tampa, st Louis and dallas are scarier on offense than say oak, jax, tenn, nyj, buff, miami.
