Trade Up For MIKE EVANS?

How are teams going to cover the Browns or Bucs if they get Watkins and Evans. Watkins and Gordon don't forget Cameron and Evans with VJax - explosive

How did seattle cover thomas, welker and decker?

I think Evans got far more from Manzeil than Watkins did Boyd.

lol at "far more." Boyd is the ACC all-time leader in any number of passing categories. Boyd has QB one the most explosive offenses for the better part of 3 seasons. And didn't he help get Hopkins drafted in the 1st last year? Boyd was a terrific college QB.

But I was not even hinting at QB play. I was suggesting the type of catches (bubble screens) and utilization of top WRs that Clemson ran vs. TAMU.

I don't think either will bust, but if one did, I am more inclined to think it would be Watkins.

Watkins is the consensus top WR in the draft. I don't think I've seen any rankings from a credible source that has Evans over Watkins.

Fair enough, but Evans is a huge target and that is something Cam has never really had outside of Olsen.  Evans would make a huge impact all over the field but especially in the red zone.

Here's a good scouting report on Evans, that has him close to Sammy Watkins.

Don't expect it to happen but if it did...

I'd be excited at the time while simultaneously knowing in the back of my head it probably wouldn't be a good move in the long run. Funny how that works, as a fan trading up is always exciting and you never think of what you give up at the time.

I really hope Evans goes to the Lions (even though we play them). The combo of him and Calvin Johnson would be absolutely terrifying to NFC North DBs.

Lol. Manziel won the Heisman and is in consideration for the first pick in the draft, Boyd may not even get drafted.

Watkins did run a lot of screens because it's where he excels...and pads Boyd's stats. I like both guys, but to think Boyd is/was the better QB is absolutely laughable.

What does that have to do with Boyd being a great college QB? Boyd didn't become one of the ACC's most accomplished passer because of Watkins. In fact, Boyd put up monster numbers last year without Watkins.

Beyond that, I never suggested that Boyd was better than Manizel...(As a passer I would take Boyd), but my point was that Watkins wasn't exactly playing with Reggie Ball (Calvin Johnson) and the system he was in is WR friendly.

And Boyd could actually beat LSU.

A&M's system isn't WR friendly? It's a high octane passing attack where Manziel had more pass attempts that Boyd.

Also, Maziel was better last season in every statistical category last season, including accuracy, TD:INT ratio, and YPA. Maziel is also an underclassman, so he did it all younger with one year less experience.
