Worst draft picks since 2000 for every team

Mr. Scot

I can live with Rashard Anderson being the choice...

My personal opinion is Armanti Edwards...the trade up and pick was hated by more than 50% of fans and while there was a smidgen of optimism he could turn into a slot receiver...deep down, everyone knew he was a bust and stayed on the team longer than he should have because of Hurney

He is right on with the Jets and Gholston. I remember saying how bad he was going to be, despite all the hype. He was one of those guys that shot up the draft boards on pure freakish athletic ability, but had no technique at all. Never understood how he became so overrated. Believe the Jets took him as a top 10, maybe even top 5 pick...huge bust. He has always been one of the few names I remember when listening to these "pro analysts" rating players.

At least Sanchez qb'ed some playoff games, despite how bad he was.

This got me thinking, how many players - per class - are still on this team? Not the best track record.

2004: Wharton (currently a FA, but could return; then again he also left for a year)

2005: TD (Hangman just retired, but he also did a stint elsewhere anyway)

2006: DeAngelo

2007: Kalil, CJ

2008: Stewart, Godfrey (Connor a FA)

2009: None

2010: Hardy

2011: Cam, Pilares

Obviously we still have most of our guys from the past two seasons, but we've already cut ties with Joe Adams and DJ Campbell.

Lmao  @ Everrette Brown man he sucked

I thought he was going to be a player for us. I read all kinds of stories on him after we drafted him and was geeked that we got the next Robert Mathis. Yeaaa ummmm about that.......

Random thought: I created the initial part on his Wikipedia page relating to the Panthers and added that part about his personal life. Good memories

...according to a guy I've never heard of (link)

Here's the list by division (comments added)

New York Jets - DE Vernon Gholston, 2008 (I gotta go with Marc Sanchez here)

You've got to be kidding. Sure, Sanchez was god awful the last two years, but he was pretty decent at one point. He contributed to a playoff team in several years, unlike Gholston who ended his career with 24 tackles and zero sacks.

2005 Carolina Panthers Draft...

Round 1 (14) S-LB Thomas Davis (star player)

Round 2 (54) RB Eric Shelton (did he ever play a single down here?)

Round 3 (79) OL Evan Mathis (let go; became a great player in Philly)

Round 3 (89) DT Atiyyah Ellison (didn't even make the roster)

Round 4 (121) QB Stefan LeFors (great story, lousy player)

Round 5 (149) LB Adam Seward (stuck around as a role player for a little while ; was he the one whose mom was a Bears cheerleader?)

Round 5 (169) OL Geoff Hangartner (became a contributor)

Round 5 (171) S Ben Emanuel (practice squadder)

Round 6 (189) DE Jovan Haye (let go ; had some good years with the Bucs)

Round 6 (207) G Joe Berger (let go ; still playing for the Vikings)

Shelton ended up with a whopping 8 carries/23 yds with us.

Two words:

- Position

- Paycheck

Shelton ended up with a whopping 8 carries/23 yds with us.

Well, that gives him more offensive production than Dexter Jackson.
