Hmmm, just a hypothesis but remember how we dominated the Giants with Chase Blackburn helping the defense recognize plays before the snap?  Well, Harper knows the saints very very well and Decoud knows the Falcons very very well also.  We could potentially pick their brains of course and dominate the NFC south again this year due to their inside info on opposing offenses and audibles.  JUST A THOUGHT    :beerhat:  :thumbsu:  :phone:

We cut down and passed on some garbage safeties we had so we have much better chances this year.

decoud sucks balls and cant tackle at all, but only watching the panthers will people realize that. hopefully people are right and he goes back to 2012 form, but i doubt it. the guy is a bandaid until we can get dead money off the books and cut our overpaid. DJ and deer hunter running backs.

Decoud did fall off last year but who on the Falcons didn't? When you only win a few games in a season it is hard to get psyched to give maximum effort.  When the falcons were winning all those games he was a pro bowler.  Seems to me he is the kind of player who is more of a follower than a leader and reflects the team and how it is doing. So for him to return to form he needs a good defense and for us to be a winning team.  Honestly that seems doable at this point.  There is little to assume that he will continue to struggle and this is what often happens when teams have a bad year.  They often overreact and get rid of good players who had a down year as well as the poor ones in hopes of somehow turning things around right away.

He made the pro bowl? Oh, so he isnt garbage? Get outta here. DeCoud cant tackle and had a bad year, but has shown he can make plays at the safety position, and thats what the panthers lacked. Swing it however you want, but DeCoud is a very good pickup for Carolina.
