I would actually be shocked to see Godfrey cut this year as. DG may just wait until next year so he doesn't have to go out a find a nickel. I'm expecting Charles to end up taking a pay-cut.

I also think Godfrey is better suited for the nickel position.

IDK if I'm under-analysing this, but if you think about it our front 7 is BEAST. They are going to add a lot of pressure, and force the QB to throw it up at times he isn't comfortable. Throw in DeCoud with interceptions as opposed to hitting ability, and it seems a great signing IMO.

Decoud is a better coverage safety than he is tackling or in the box. Something we haven't had back there in a long time. Hopefully he won't have to make too many TD-saving tackles and is able to sit back, play center field, and ball hawk behind our front 7.

He's very instinctive too. Potential to make some plays and jump a few routes playing with our front 7. Any coverage safety is most likely going to look like poo when the opposing QB has all day to throw. He did go to Hawaii 2 years ago.

This is a good thing.  6 ints for a free safety is impressive.  Last year he played behind the Atlanta Dline, which was ranked dead last by PFF among 4-3 defenses.  He'll be fine playing behind a front seven that can generate pressure.  It's a solid fit and didn't break the bank.  Great stuff.
