Panthers Sign FS Decoud

As the previous pics have been posted, I think he will equal the fan love that Mitchell brought to us last year.  DeCoud's personality, from what I've read, is very hard to not like and he seems like a great teammate/lockerroom vet.  I'm sure he might frustrate us from time to time, but dude has shown all-pro talent already and is still in his prime.  Not saying he's a lock for Honolulu, but I think he will do more good than bad for us behind our front 7 and with a fun personality to boot.

OL is by far my biggest worry.

Hell, we could take a WR in the third round and pair him with what we have an be OK in the passing game.

OL (especially LT) is a different story.

1-2 the Oline. Or double dip as the kids say. Then spend the rest on skill position players. Which is a stretch, but then again, it is soooo Gman.

1-WR, 2-OL, 3-OL. Then BPA. Only so many days left til all this is over. Then we can worry, fret, discuss, and, in general, overanalyze each and every iota of Panther info.

IMO, we need to stay in the first three rounds go get starting material for the Oline. Whereas, with WR, we could probably still go into the 4th and still get some kid to challenge for playing time.

Now...for a true, #1 down a short road type, you have to go high. The higher you go, the better your odds. And those odds drop drastically, and quickly.

Our 3rd round pick is really a early 4th round pick. So no I hope we get a WR sooner then that.

One of the perks of winning. Pick scraps, at the end, of each, and every, round. Almost like you don't even get a 1st. You just go 1st in the 2nd.

I say. The kid we get a 28 is still going to be a stud. Top ten talent. That we are getting a good talent seems to be losing out to the perceived drop off in talent. That we aren't getting the best, must mean we aren't getting anything nearly as good.

The talent in this draft is as deep as it has been in recent memory. Yet we are not going to get any talent at 28 because we don't get the top couple of guys? That is a line of thinking I try to avoid for myself. The "Worse case scenario" type.

Sorry, got off target. If we get 4 kids that can contribute, with 2-3 being starter material, out of this draft. Which is pretty reasonable. The odds are pretty good that Oline and WR should be in the mix to benefit from the influx of talent.

1st round or nothing with WR. 2nd and 3rd round on Oline. Then spend the rest on skill positions. The only way you get lucky to get a playmaker is to draft him.

Gman has proven he can fill in the roster with cheap quality labor. It's those pesky playmakers that he seems to steer clear of so far. If we want one, we have to draft him. Underwood, Pilares, McNutt, and King are all guys we need to look at. We are not going to draft a WR to compete for lower level reps. So it is 1st or nothing as to WR.

Ok, I'm done with this one.

But they also value out cheaper when their 1st contract ends. So there is that.

He is a quality starter. As is Harper. They allow Lester, and what ever other young kid shows up. With Cason, we have upgraded our secondary to solid.

And it is also instantly upgradeable. A kid showing out in practice gets his shot. Does well enough to garner some snaps. Next thing you know, he is starting. Who he replaced was a cheap, one year rental. He has become your best friend. Competition, and mentor. And it didn't cost a whole bunch along the way.

All I know about Gman and his draft. He will do what he thinks is best for this team. He has the exp., and has done well so far. After all, every pick last year is on the team. If he comes anywhere near repeating that. And gets Oline, and WR help along the way. We are going to be as good, or better, than last year.

I've been saying it for a long while now. The future is here. Don't forget to enjoy it while it lasts. Well, I did just add that last part. But the future is here part? Yeah, I've been saying that one for a long time.

17-6 since Cam witnessed Peyton carve our D up. Coinky dinky? I think not. I think Cam got it that day. Or after watching tape of that day.

Excitement abounds. And GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same line? Do you even pay attention to your own team? You guys lost Abraham last season and replaced him with Osi. Osi is decent, but Abraham is definitely a step up.

Osi/Abe was a lateral move. Abe would have the same numbers here as Osi. He only had a good season in ARI due to established pass rushers already being there.

Yeah keep telling yourself that. Osi isn't in the same ball park as ABE.

Abe had 10 sacks and 6 FF last year for you guys. LOL.

Osi has played in less snaps than Abe over the last two years. And he's 35.
