D-Will in shock over loss of receiving corp

Wait so what exactly is your argument? We have no money to spend on a good oline because it's tied up in albatross Hurney contracts like the one Williams signed, so Williams can't be productive because we have no oline or receivers to stretch the field and it's ok that Williams bitches about it in the media because he already got his paycheck so he doesn't care anymore?

Williams contract has 0 to do with our lack of talent at WR right now as well as oline.

My problem with it was the way he talked about the new receivers. By saying "not to throw them under this bus" means he's doing exactly that. Makes him sound like a d-bag RB that is underwhelming in performance.

Everyone that listened to what he said interpreted it differently but I do not believe he was throwing anyone under the bus. I think his point was he was surprised at the move and went on to compliment Steve Smith and company which are teammates he has worked with for some time. He sounded like he was either half asleep or stoned when he was talking

Your window of opportunity gets narrower when you have a guy on your team on a 100 million dollar contract. You can get better without getting worse. Your goal is to win a Super Bowl, when you see guys like Mike Mitchell almost in tears over a win, you know you're building something special. Last year should have been built upon.

are you really not getting this?

we could not build upon last year because we didnt have the fuging money. we would be over the cap at this very moment if we had signed all the FA that left.

and your window of opportunity does not get narrower if you draft correctly. we have one guy that had an almost 100 million dollar contract on the team right now dude.

Seriously? DWill is clearly clueless, as everyone else in this thread has  already pointed out. With his contract we can't afford much else. He shold just collect his money and stay quiet. He has a fair point in being shocked, but don't blame the current FO or put pressure on them when you are hamstringing them. Anyone who can't accept that is clueless as well.

You know 0 about business and neither does anyone that believes Dwill's contract is stopping us from bringing in talent.

Why? It's just business. D-Wil wants to win, and it's hard to win when Jericho Cotchery is your number one receiver.

We had one of the worst receiving corps in the league last year.  LaFell was given several years to improve..   Hixon had,  what?  Like 10 catches last year?  Ginn was mainly a one trick pony that, while exceeding our expectations,  our expectations weren't that high for him to begin with.

Cotchery as our #1 WR,  which isn't proven to be the case yet,  would make as much sense as our beloved #89 as a #1 WR last year.

We still have the draft.   This years draft is deep when it comes to WRs.

I'm sorry,  but keeping a WR corp that we knew to be one of the worst in the NFL,  as a whole,  wouldn't exactly be the recipe for "winning",  since every team in our division has improved their secondary,  and our WR corp struggled last year,  to get open on a regular basis.

Setting that ridiculous statement aside, so what about the second part of my question? You genuinely think it's ok for Deangelo to make these comments because he's already been paid and doesn't care what anyone thinks?

Gettleman's built in excuse. Next offseason I want you to look at all 32 team's salary cap and compare it to ours, then look at their moves and look at ours.

So to fix our bad receiving corps, we make it worse? Fantastic strategy! Maybe we should fix our offensive line by making it worse too!

This is America, and given all the drama that he's had to deal with since Rivera's arrival, I don't blame him one bit. He's frustrated. What was so bad about his comments? Were you not shocked? Do you not think the pressure is on the front office to find talent for Cam?

It has finally dawned on me that some of you are so affected by the cutting of Steve Smith that it doesn't matter what Gettleman does, you hate him and will always distort reality to fit your narrative that everything in your world that is wrong is Dave Gettleman's fault.

Gettleman wants to win, and it's hard to win when your 1-2 RB tandem, who barely crack the 1000 rushing yards mark combined, occupy 20% of the salary cap allocated to the entire offense.
