D-Will in shock over loss of receiving corp

Having his money doesn't allow Deangelo to say whatever he wants. Last I checked Jerry Richardson owned the team, Ron Rivera was the head coach, and Dave Gettleman was the GM. He isn't paid for commentary or opinions. He should keep his mouth shut. If he is stupid enough to not understand the moves that were made, that's his problem. He can keep it to himself or express his concerns in a professional meeting with the front office. Period.

Having his money means he doesn't give a fug what you, Gettleman, Rivera, or JR thinks about his comments. People keep their mouth shut because they still need to get paid. Dwill knows this is probably his last contract, and he's going to get his money regardless.

Says the team that went 12-4 in 2013 and was some bad calls away from going to the NFC championship game. I

Does not matter one bit.

DG came in here with a vision, and he will stick to it.  We overachieved last year, but that doesn't change what he needs to do here.

And seriously, if you want to whine about people sitting around making money doing nothing than you should be demanding Gettleman cut Godfrey. Heck, we're paying Steve Smith 5 million not to play for us.

do you want to pay smith 10 mill then 12 mill the next two years?

honest question; a 36 then 37 year old wide receiver 22 million over the next two years?

what is happening this season needed to be done whether we have growing pains or not

Good lord, you guys don't pay attention.

Can't cut Godfrey until he is cleared by the team doctors.

Smith wasn't about this season, it's about the next two.  Pull the band aid off slowly, or quickly and move on....your choice.

Who gives a fug about money? I'm talking about being a mature leader for the team by not spouting off like an asshole. If he really concerned then why run your mouth to the media? Go to the source of your concern or quit your bitching.

Dude, DWill has been bad for a long, long time. At least at three years. He's had a good game here or there over the past couple of seasons, but, for the most part, he hasn't done poo other than talk.

He's a fan favorite, I get it. I see him signing autographs and hanging out with fans at WWE events and stuff and it's cool. But his personality shouldn't cloud the judgment of the type of player he is.

A RB over thirty who has been on IR multiple times in his career that was only ever truly successful when Stewart was there to split carries and lighten the load.

2011 - 155 carries, 836 yards (5.4 YPC), 7 TDs [16 receptions, 135 yards]

2012 - 173 carries, 737 yards (4.3 YPC), 5 TDs [13 receptions, 187 yards, 2 TDs]

2013 - 201 carries, 843 yards, (4.2 YPC), 3 TDs [26 receptions, 333 yards, 1 TD]

He's not bad at all, actually. His YPC has gone down, yes, but he's been fairly consistent in getting yards splitting carries with 3 other players (Cam, Stewart, Tolbert), and his impact on the receiving game has gone up.

It's perfectly reasonable to cut him in 2014, when you save much more money and lose much less, and have more time to get replacements. It is unreasonable to cut him in 2013, when you save very little money and have no time to get adequate replacements.

It's not his job to take a pay cut, when he signed his contract he was well worth the money. It's the front office's job to get the most out of him by putting an offensive line in front of him. When the line blocks, dwill runs well. If you know you don't have a great offensive line then it's the coaches job to scheme and design plays to mask that.

His job also isn't to comment on front office issues. It is also not Dave Gettlemans fault we are in this salary cap hell just like it isn't Deangelos as you say. This is one guy who gets way to much of a pass on these boards. He just has not been all that impressive the last few years. His job is not too fumble against Seattle week 1 or against Atlanta week 17 in big spots. He seems like he is constantly stuffed at the line all gsme and breaks one big play to make his numbers look average.

I think it is a BS move for him to put it all on the front office and take absolutely no responsibility. Hey idiot (not you, but talking about DeAngelo), if you move away from the passing game that does in fact put more of an emphasis on the running backs. So yes there would be more responsibility for him and Stewart to perform. To just sit there and throw the front office under the bus is a joke and also not a great way to welcome your new teammates. I really can't stand this guy and his contract is brutal.

Why is everyone on DWill? Who the hell was not shocked when we lost our WR corp? Being shocked and being condescending are different. He was not saying it as he had an agenda to undermine the FO. Much about nothing in my opinion.

So, removing the seasons that Stewart was there to lighten the load (which I stated in my post) and the last few years where he's had a game that is an anomaly (the saints game), his yards don't look so hot.

Couple that with him saying poo like this on television, and he becomes less of a JAG than he already is.

If we win the Super Bowl do you really give a fug?

so we would definitely win the super bowl next year with the team we had? you act like that is a sure thing

or would you rather take your chances regrouping, being able to sign cam and luke long term, (because that is a BIG question mark if we resigned all of our other players), letting greg hardy walk who was a big piece in that playoff run and his ceiling looks similar to Cams.

you want immediate gratification, winning the superbowl isn't some automatic thing; or we could regroup, get the cap in order, draft talent (which gettleman is known for) and come back at this thing with more firepower and a longer window of opportunity.

gettleman made his choice. not enough bitching and whining in the world will change that. i don't think you realize the cap implications of keeping the players we had on the 2013 squad. mike mitchell got paid 25 fuging million dollars.
