D-Will in shock over loss of receiving corp

LOL yep!How about how bad he is because he isn't Jim Brown or because he isn't AP? What LT did has nothing to do with DeAngelo. I really don't see a Tomlinson or Brown waiting in the wings or the draft to take Williams place.

So are you admitting he isn't as good as those guys or that you guys like to pretend he is too?

We don't necessarily need better rushers. We've made it to the playoffs without a 1000 yard rusher multiple times in our history and we can do it again. The obstacle is that we're paying a franchise back premium for an 800 yard rusher when we could be spending that money on more important positions.

I don't know who "you guys" are. Are you talking to me or a general group of posters you assign one thought to? Who are "those guys"?  I haven't proposed a pretend scenario for D-Will. Do you mean Brown and AP? I haven't seen anyone say he is as good as them, just you suggesting that it was said or thought.  Williams stands on his own and his performance has been affected by the OL and the scheme. Block for him and he can make plays.  he is a back you need to get out in space , he is not a power runner.

and the 800 yd rusher can be a 1000 yd rusher with some better schemes and better blocking.

Because other people have asserted he's that good based on their implication.

You're the one who doesn't understand...DWill isn't as good as Lynch it's that simple.

He compares with Lynch in YPC and that's where it ends,

Why do you suppose they drafted Stewart in the 1st round if they thought DWill was really this special workhorse back like Lynch? Aside from Fox/Hurney being morons the answer is because he isn't.

Personally I would have drafted Albert or Cherilus with the pick we used on Stewart because many on this board were down with Ray Rice or Matt Forte and had numerous discussions about going OT in the 1st that year and if needed RB in the later rounds because there was depth there that year.(and this is not hind sight 20/20 bullshit people like to overuse)

This was poo that we went over on this board before, during, and after that draft. We had no business trading up and wasting another first round pick to hop back in the first round of that draft.

The issue was that Fox didn't like starting younger guys and DWill sat behind foster so we didn't know what we had in him too much and you could get the impression that DWill wasn't too big on Fox's favorites list. The fool kept Foster for how long? Crazy...

I was all for Albert and Forte... Bc Gross was looking old then.

Well Gross can also play extremely well at RT...which he would have done and excelled at as well...

Gross was sick at RT his rookie year.

Think about the position we'd be in now with BA and Forte instead of having the whole Otah/Stewart/Williams debacle.

Although we would have had to pay Forte decent money I seriously doubt we would have kept Williams when it was time for his renewal.

Are any of you youngsters in college majoring in psychology?

It would make for an interesting paper if you could study sports franchise fanbases to learn about their shattered psyche.

Some of you are like battered wives that refuse to see what's plainly in front of them.

We went 12-4 this year mainly on the backs of the new blood players we brought in, not the old guard that have just been collecting checks without the results. And yet here you are, vehemently defending so many of them. It really is an interesting look into the mind of a people who have been shat on for so long that they start to say please and thank you when shat on again.
