If I were either player, I wouldn't either. Don't blame them a bit.

That wasn't my point.

My point was whining about something we don't have the money to do under our current Cap Hell when you are one of the Cap Hell Gang.

what did he whine about? What did he specifically say we should do or who we should sign?

I know this has nothing to do with this thread, but since I can't post threads here it is. I found under the DeAngelo article on bleacher report that Matt Miller had Thomas Davis ranked 12 out of the top 4-3 outside linebackers. Yeah. 12.

We have 40% of our cap at DE. TOO much $$$$

Dwill and stew count for about 10%

If your gonna use bs to make and argument at least half ass get it right.

You can have the coolest car in the world in the garage but without gas and a road what good is it?

Some of you idiots don't understand football at all. You just look at numbers and go dumb. If that's the case Steve smith should have been cut in 2010, ohh wait then he got a guy to get him the ball and threw up 1300 yards.

Get it?

Probably not.

I think the DE cap hit is closer to 20%..  which I'm actually cool with if you consider how much more important the DE position is over RB, and especially if you consider the production we've actually gotten out of all that money wasted at RB compared to DE...

DE is most likely going to get a larger portion of the cap, but what is killing this franchise is 10mil this year between 2 RBs, 5.5 for Godfrey, 8mil to Beason..

Despite just blindly pointing at numbers as an excuse why DE is holding this team back, the future philosophy seems largely dedicated to spending more money towards DE and DL..  22mil in bad contracts is still more devistating when looking at the Panthers future moves..

and 10mil of that coming from RBs who we could have replaced with Tolbert or any number of mid round draft picks is far too much to excuse if we are going to point fingers at why we can't sign a big name WR...

You guys realize him and Stewart have already restructured

They know they are both gone so why would they?

Want to talk money, talk about the 5mill we are paying smith to catch balls for balitmore, then had to go spend more $$$ on 2 players to replace him.

Restructuring converts future money to current cash that needs to be applied to the cap later. It does not save money. People need to understand what restructuring is.

If the people who hate Gettleman so much would realize this is all about Hurney and how he screwed up the team financially, maybe these threads wouldn't fall into so much BS about Gettelman and what he needs to do to fix what Hurney did to the team financially.

Did I mention that this is all Hurney's fault?

Yep, the entire position group makes up 22%.

Wrong buddy. two biggest problems on the team cap wise= DE's

It's why I said arguably.

As others have said, our DEs at least produce at Pro Bowl levels. And, our cap situation doesn't just mean this year, but long term. We can cut CJ next season and save a ton. Hardy could be gone...that's 25 million or so next year off our books simple as that.

The RBs? It's going to cost us to cut mediocre players who are paid like Pro Bowlers at their position. D-Will is basically a wash after next year, but Stewart screws us down the road. All things considered, and not just for this season, led to my statement that the RBs are the bigger issue.

Enjoyed Dwill as an important part of this team....his comments had a little bit of bitterness, but overall it's a "wait and see" type response. The author of the article spiced it up on his own.

Having said that, Dwill's time here is coming to an end. Once the RB contracts are cleaned up we can move past all these "are they worth it" speculations. I will say that there isn't room to give him more touches. There are more effective players to take the touches he doesn't get. To change that would mean limiting Cam and Tolbert. No sane person would advocate that, right?

Yes. Generally he is the problem and needs to keep his mouth shut.

I know you're being sarcastic, I read some of the posts, but didn't bother to read them all since there seems to be a clear trend.

He didn't say anything that wasn't true, or that many of in our fan base hadn't already been thinking, and it wasn't anything offensive. Yes, he's making more money than we'd like. Am I happy with that? Absolutely not. Am I going to bash him for this interview? Nope.
