Ed Dickson visiting the Panthers

*Suspect Hands*

Lafell has more than 1 highlight catch and people here still claim his hands aren't there.

It's well known that Dickson has the dropsies.  If you aren't one to watch the NFL as a whole just google "Ed Dickson problem with drops".

If you hate Lafell for dropping the ball...you'd wanna literally murder this guy after a few games.

If he signs with us we would obviously want to hope that he leaves that part of him behind.

Comment section on the 2nd link is basically a worse version of Huddlers take on Lafell.

Free agent TE Ed Dickson is visiting the Panthers.
It's Dickson's first-known visit of free agency, though the Baltimore Sun reported last month that he had contract offers from the Jaguars and Ravens. It's a bit unbelievable that Dickson would have turned down any offer after back-to-back poor seasons. In Carolina, he'd compete for No. 2 duties behind Greg Olsen. Apr 9 - 1:58 PM

Honest question given our ramshackle offensive line.

Is he a decent blocker if we run base two TE sets like we did in Cam's rookie year?

I literally had this question right before you posted, but:

"Dallas Clark and Dennis Pitta -- when he returned from his gruesome hip injury -- were used as pass-catching tight ends while Dickson was more often used as a blocker, which has never been his strong suit. In 354 snaps as a run blocker, he had by far the worst run blocking grade, according to Pro Footballicon1.png Focus, among all players at his position."

No doubt he has the reputation of stone hands..... Just saying I think he can at least come contribute as a backup. I like the possible potential of Brandon Williams as well but I am always a fan of competition. Dickson has size/skill just needs to put it together, much like Williams. Not like we paying the guy anything more than vet min
