CB Kyle Fuller visiting Panthers

Dude fits exactly what we are looking for at CB in our scheme.  Doesn't fit everyone else's and combined with his size, I could see him slide down to us.  Agreed that if the OT/WR group that we are looking at when we pick is of lesser value, I'd be okay with giving us a future starting CB with lots of years ahead of him.

We went 12-4 last year and we're 2 years from being contenders? Makes a lot of sense.

Actually it makes perfect sense.

Gett plugged a bunch of holes with bargain bin players last season and the team over achieved.

We still have several terrible contracts that we are working against.  Will take 2 years to clear them.

We are adding young players in the draft and supplementing them with cheap veterans to hold down the fort in the short term.

WR>OL>CB. Still wouldn't be a bad pick

I think with the Avant signing it is now CB>WR and OL>WR. Olsen plus seasoned vets J-Co and Avant give us 3 good targets and we already have a handful of young prospects competing for the other WR spots. At DB, we didn't draft a single one last year. We got Melvin White as an UDFA and he beat out 33-year-old vet Drayton Florence and did well for a rookie. I agree with the The Charlotte Observer that Cason was brought in to replace the aging Florence as depth on a 1-year show me deal (keep in mind Cason battled back and forth as the #4/#5 CB for the Cards last season and rarely played on their D, he was primarily special teams). We need a starting corner opposite White now that Munnerlyn is gone. In hindsight, we maybe should have locked down Munnerlyn for a longer deal a year ago, as he excelled in all 3 facets of the game, run defense, pass coverage, and blitzing, grading out as Pro Football Focus’ 11th ranked cornerback. On top of that, Michael Mitchell also out-performed his one-year deal and is now getting paid by the Steelers to replace their aging Pro Bowl S Ryan Clark. We added S Roman Harper, but he is a big liability in pass coverage. Godfrey’s and Mikell's future is a question mark. CB is a big need, and there are some very good prospects in the draft, Fuller being one of them.

Another thing is this draft is so top heavy in WRs that you have stud prospects expected to still be available in the 3rd R (Jarvis Landry, Jordan Matthews, etc)
