Joe Person & Jonathan Jones putting our receiving corp into (Rivera's) perspective

Daniel Jerimiah on NFLN just urged DG to double dip at WR in the first two rounds.

Imagine a combo of Beckham/Adams here? Or Cooks/Matthews? Lee and Moncrief? Definitely tempting and would finally give Cam a very legitimate group of weapons at his disposal. As much as a double dip in rounds 1 and 2 would excite me at the receiver position I think I'd rather we go WR, OT, WR, OT the first 4 rounds but it really all depends on who falls where and when.

First: Beckham/Cooks/Lee

Second: Turner/Moses/Mewhort/Cyrus K

Third: Moncrief/Adams/Lattimer/Mattews/Landry

Fourth: Fleming/Hurst/Bitonio/Cyrus K

Definitely some wishful thinking there but any of those combos would have me extremely confident we can repeat as NFCS Champs and make a deep run in the playoffs if the rookies play to their capabilities.

Agree completely. I don't know who would be available at OT late in the third, so I'm fine with some combo that nets the best OT and 2 good WR prospects.

OT

WR

WR

TE

Cam and I would be thrilled.

I wouldn't read too much into the replacing catches comment. Gettleman and Rivera are well aware of our needs, and the situation, but they aren't going to go out here and make themselves appear desperate before the draft.

This is my opinion as well. I don't look at the fact they signed 3 wr. I look at how long they signed for and the type of players they are. IMO we signed 3 short term transition players. To help with the younger players we're bringing in.

I'd say we've already upgraded our #2 and #3 WRs with guys that are cheaper than who they replaced, plus we still have the draft. If we land a stud #1 WR in the draft and a couple quality OLine then we look significantly better on offense across the board. And we still have what looks like a top 5, possibly #1 defense.

Agreed.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't draft a WR until round 3 or 4. I think we need one round 1, round 2 at the latest depending on what Tackle is there at 28. I just don't know how much they value the position with this 10 catches talk. People talk about how bad the position was last year, but Gettleman let that play out. Who's to say he isn't content to do the same here if the goal is to simply "replace" the production of the previous group.

I think you are taking a bit too much poo for this statement. I don't necessarily agree but it is an interesting point. If there is value to be had at 28 and or 60 I think Gettleman will go WR but he is not wringing his hands saying we need to get a guy pronto. There are still a few cards remaining that need to be played.

It's about his collective posts over the past month more than just a single post.

I'm used to it, I'm like the friend who tells you what you don't want to hear, but you need to know.
