Allen Robinson improving his draft prospects at Penn ST pro day

Allen Robinson, WR (6-foot 7/8, 207) — Robinson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 and 4.50 seconds (improving on the 4.60 40 from the NFL Scouting Combine). He had a 42-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-11 broad jump. He also did the three-cone drill in 6.54 seconds. Robinson had a great pro-day workout. He looked very good running routes. Robinson’s performance really helped his draft stock a lot. It will push him into a crowded group of talented wide receivers in the 2014 NFL Draft class; not the upper echelon of prospects (a group that would include the likes of Sammy Watkins of Clemson and Mike Evans of Texas A&M), but the next tier of talent.

-Gil Brandt

That 3 cone drill time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big fan. Dude was end of the 1st talent towards the end of the season. Fell off after the 2 'all star' games and the combine. Early pro days pushed him even farther back as others shined. His route tree needs some polish, but he is a prototypical WR. Looks great at the X and can also slide along the formation. Great after the catch and his vertical is scary....42 inches!! Damn. Give me him in the first and Herron in the 3rd.

I still have him as a 3rd round grade.

I don't put grades on prospects because I don't try to scout out these players all that closely, but I thought it was silly that this guy wad considered a 3rd rounder. He looks like a complete stud.

Well, Mayock agreed with me: 2nd-3rd round grade on him.

I see 15 Wrs I would like to see in a Panthers uniform. I see him as more of a 2nd round guy but with the depth of WRs some of this group of 15 will be there in the 3rd.

How many WRs do you see off the board when we pick in the 2nd? I could see 6 off the board in the 1st round which has not been done in some time.

I think at least 5 will go in the 1st round.

Yea he may not make it to the 3rd but this year is so deep at WR I think it will cause some really good talent to be there in the 3rd.
