Wide Receiver Roundup

Fact of the matter is Underwood put up 440 yards last year in 12 games with Mike Glennon throwing to him. The year before that he put up 425 in 14 games with Josh Freeman throwing to him. Glennon was a rookie, and last I checked, Freeman was still looking for a team.

Give the guy a chance with Cam.

I like this guy.

i like him too! there's a reason denver was pissed that we snagged him from their practice squad. very promising. and before anybody takes a shot about him being on the practice squad...when Von Miller returned from IR --- King was placed on the practice squad to make room on the 53 man roster for Miller.

Wow way to put words in my mouth.

I've said many times if any of the top 4 OT (Robinson, Matthews, Lewan, or Martin) drop in our laps they are the pick reregardless of what WR'S is there. But after that there will be at least 5 to 6 Wr rated higher then the next OT's imo.

Plus add in the fact that after the top 4 you're getting a guy that will play RT for at least 1 year before he moves to the left side. Those guys can be had in the 2nd and 3rd round with more value then taking them in the 1st.

Again this is just my opinion.

But you know none of those will not drop in our laps unless one tears their ACL sometime soon (hardly gonna happen) or Lewan drops.  We need offensive linemen badly dude, I do not want Byron Bell protecting Cam's blind side.  fug no, fug that, fuging fug no.

What you want and what's going to happen is 2 different things. You might want to prepare yourself for Bell being the LT this season. Unless 1 of the top 4 drop the other OT aren't going to be ready to play LT from day one. Anybody we draft after the top 4 will play RT for at least a season. Gross was a top 10 pick and didn't start on the left side. It might be scary to think of Bell on the left side. But it's scarier to think of a 5th rated rookie OT starting at LT

Here is a breakdown of the Panthers WR from last year vs what they will have this coming season. 2013 production comparison & future cap hit comparisons. The cap hit for Smith is not what he's making in Baltimore, rather what he would've been owed by Carolina if he was not released. Rookie figures are the averages of WRs drafted in the bottom 3rd of rounds 1-3 last year (Hopkins, Patterson, Dobson, Bailey), where Carolina will most likely pick up a WR this year.

Don't know if it's already been said, but Pilares over King? 5'10" vs 6'1", coming off injury on a contract year vs young potential with 3 more years on the cheap. To me it's Cotchery, Avant, Underwood, McNutt and King with this roster snap shot. I don't see Pilares making the 53.

How many accounts does this one make for you now?

It's not a knock when a 3rd year 7th rounder gets little playing time behind:

Welker: 122 receptions

Gronkowski: 90 receptions

Hernandez: 79 receptions

Branch: 51 receptions

Woodhead: 18 receptions

I am not saying that it was or wasn't a knock. But I will say that if you're in your third year, you should be able to get on the field if you are taken seriously as a starter. Someone with Underwood's size and speed compared to some of those munchkins...

It hasn't got past me that the Bucs let him walk either. That being said, I like Underwood from what I've seen and heard about him, and I am rooting for him. He will have as good a shot as anyone else to stick and even start.

I think that the field is wide open, and I am not going to discount anyone, but neither am I going to jump for joy until I see more.

King's issue is dealing with the jam.  He needs to get a more consistent release to be the deep threat that he's capapble of being.  Getting stronger should be a priority for him.

Glad we got him but we need more, obviously.

you will have to able pass the ball sooner or later. And not just to move the chains but to make big plays. You have a big play QB not a game manager. You don't handcuff him.

Cam is only 24 years old with only 3 years NFL experience. The biggest positive with our new WRs is we got Cam two veteran WRs that each have triple the NFL experience Cam has in J-Co and Avant. That sounds like pretty good news to me. Add Olsen, and that is three good targets for Cam in addition to the 561 yds our RB caught for last year. As for the other WR roster spots, we have a handful of young developmental prospects ready to compete and we'll probably add more in this draft (that is top heavy in stud WR prospects).

Has anybody seen this guy Paul Richardson play?  Check out his scouting report and watch the film if you've never seen him.  I think he'd be a great deep threat for us.  He's got the quickness and the long speed plus he's s tough player.

I'd love to steal him in the 3rd or 4th if he slips.  He definitely gives up what we currently lack.

We need to take at least two receivers in this draft.

Or...you might want to prepare yourself for an OT like CK or Moses being the #28 pick.  There is a REAL possibility that this happens.
