Wow, to think that just a few days ago this place was ready to implode. You guys have to get rid of that "gotta have it now" mentality and let things play out. Dave knows WTH he's doing, give him time and this team will be vying for the NFC title every year.

Just because you have bodies at a position doesnt mean you don't have a need. If any one thinks we can compete with this current crop of receivers, you are sadly, hilariously, mistaken. 

 

Its as good if not better than last year's group at receiver, and we won the NFC South with those guys.

We sure don't have a sexy wide-out group but its already better than last year's.

Underwood has more upside than Ginn and hopefully doesn't have drop issues.

Cotchery is significantly better than LaFell in every aspect (except MAYBE blocking).

Avant is certainly no Steve Smith, but when you consider how quickly Smiths skills are deteriorating and how much we'll have to pay him over the next few years he isn't much of a downgrade.

This FA has turned out surprisingly well and sets us up to go BPA in the draft. Honestly if we keep hitting home runs on our first pick and getting a few nice additions in the later round we will have some nice trade bait if nothing else down the line.

I promised myself I was going to sit back and not comment. But I can't help it. You guys are like the damn little aliens from Toy Story and Gettleman is the claw. Our WRs right now are not better than last year, not even a smidge. Steve Smith is a border line Hall of Famer, Lafell is better than Avant, drops and all and Underwood ain't Ginn. I don't mind all the blind optimism, but come on man can we at least be honest with ourselves??

Nah I don't agree with that. Wr and OT are still tied for most needed position.

Good signing right here. If we get some young WR's in the draft, a vet like Avant will be key.  Plus, old dude catches everything thrown his way.  Will be a great WR to have out there on 3rd downs.

Solid veteran possession receiver. He may not be better than LaFell at this point but he is a better fit for Cam and the Panthers than LaFell was.

I don't think it's in any way a stretch to suggest the new crop can be equal to the former if not better as a whole. Then we get to draft.

Cam needs tall sure handed receivers, Avant is that, LaFell isn't. You really think that LaFell helped this team more than Avant will? Because I sure don't.
